November 9, 1936 - October 16, 2025
Glen Charles Peake, 88, of Hot Springs passed away on October 16, 2025 surrounded by his family. We find peace knowing he was greeted by his loving wife and daughter in Heaven. He was born November 9, 1936 in Guttenberg, Iowa to the late Nettie (Erickson) and Earl Peake.
Glen had deep roots in Hot Springs, being that he moved at the age of 16 with his family from Postville, Iowa in 1955. He graduated from Hot Springs High School that same year. Glen, alongside his Dad and Brother, owned and operated the Oaklawn Redbird Service Station. Glen would start Peake's Laundromat in 1961, the same year he married the love of his life, Judy Peake. In 1963, Glen and Judy started Peake's Parking Lot at their home across from Oaklawn Racing. He was a staple at the Parking lot for over seven decades up until his passing, where he enjoyed greeting his regulars, many who had become life-long friends. Glen never met a stranger and could not go anywhere in town without someone he knew stopping him to say hello. He will be remembered for his generosity and kindness to all; truly a selfless man. Glen's family was his life, and no matter the circumstances, he was their rock- always providing, always steady. He was one of the hardest workers you could ever meet, and he instilled in his children and grandchildren the importance of a strong work ethic and integrity.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Unamae ''Judy'' Peake; daughter, Vallie Jo Peake Wilkerson; his parents; brother, Robert Lee Peake and sister, Nora Martin.
Glen is survived by his daughters, Kimberly (Bob) Pymn, Glenda (Brady) Covey, Kristi (Michael) Blades, Courtney Peake; grandchildren, Nick (Morgan) Wilkerson, Jessica (Tucker) Moix, Joshua Glen (Maria) Wilkerson, Matthew Galloway, Kaylin (Andrew) Rochier, Meghan Galloway, Alina Rudakova, Michael Blades, Ben Herrera, McKenna Pymn, Aydan Blades, Violet Tosh, Lauren Pymn, Sawyer Tosh; great-grandchildren, Blakely and Tatum Moix, Timber and Ridge Wilkerson and Tammy Lynn Rochier; his honorary children, Marika Pickens Neeve, Dwayne Harper and Jessie Harper; his two loyal fur babies, Rowdy and Joy and many more nieces, nephews, family and wonderful friends.
A Celebration of his life will be held at First Baptist Church on Central Ave. Saturday, November 1, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. Private Burial following.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations of Dog and Cat food be dropped off at his home to be donated to the local animal shelter and the Humane Society.

I have fond memories of pulling in the "Red Bird" and admiring the aquarium and Glen asking my mother if i could have a candy bar. He was priority one on the service call list for the Earl Gill shop when the coffee machine hick-upped. My God bless us and his family.

Mr. Glen was always delightful to see. Always had a smile and asked about your day. We always parked with him and his family at Oakland. He was a special man that will be missed.

Lifting up your family in prayer. Your father was such a kind man and will be missed by all. Praying for comfort and peace for your family.

I first met Glen about 4 years ago. He approached me at the gym because he was impressed of a young person being there everyday at 5am (I was 22 at the time). He would always motivate me in the gym, was interested in my life and we always had really great conversations. He was like an extra grandfather to me. I will never forget the day he told me about his photo being in the paper for his business, he found me in the gym and brought me to the front desk to show it to me. I was so happy for him and trounced he wanted to share that moment with me. I loved and adored him dearly and will miss him very much.

So sorry to hear of the passing of Glen. He was always so kind. I loved going to the laundromat with my Mama and sister when we were very little. I couldn't have been more than 3 or 4. I remember his sweet wife teaching me how to tie a know at the end of the thread after putting the thread through the eye of the needle. And the white catfish in the aquarium that was at the gas station Z and the mean dongs in the back of the laundromat parking lot. And Glen was always ready to take time to talk with us little ones. He was a good man. God speed, Sir

I remember that fellows sweet face. Frequented Redbird many times with my parents when my brother and I were very young. Back in the 1970's. ❤️. Prayers to the family.

Bold prayers for you all as you go on. Our great family adventures (businesses ) overlapped for as long as I can remember. A good and sweet soul he was.

Glen was probably the kindest, most humble man that ever lived in Hot Springs. It's sad knowing I won't ever run into him again at Kroger or see him at a family funeral again. With multi generations growing up on Higdon Ferry, Glen, Ms Peake, and the Red Bird were fixtures in all our lives for decades. In later years, he was always there for the funerals of our family, those of us whose parents and grandparents, and whole extended families, were his customers over the years. At any family funeral you'd look up and there was Glen Peake, sitting quietly, alone, usually on the back row. It made you feel honored, seeing him sitting there. God Bless his family. He will be missed by anyone who ever knew him.

Mr Peak, was my neighbor and friend.
Glen would greet you with his genuine smile and sincere handshake. You
Would always feel good after talking to Glen. He will be missed. A great man
And the best neighbor I've ever had.

Mr. Glen will be sorely missed. He went to my church and every single time he would see me come in and he was there before me, he would leave his seat and come give me a hug and kiss and ask how I was. Mr. Glen was an amazing man with so much faith.

What a great and positive man!….We parked with Glen and his family Everytime we attended Oaklawn for the last several years. Glen was always smiling and brightened our day with his words of kindness….he then served as a role model with his dedicated fitness routine at the Y. Our lives are so much richer for having had Glen as a friend and a beacon of Christian example for all these years….Rest in Peace dear friend….William ''Coach'' and Robin Rountree

Glen was truly a man of integrity. He loved the Lord, his beautiful family and he genuinely cared about those in the community. Trust and respect are not given, they are earned, and throughout the years, I've never met a single person who didn't have the utmost respect for Glen and his family. It was an honor to call him and Judy my friends. I pray God's peace and comfort to fill the hearts of all his family and friends.
