Dixie L. Lokeon, 82, of Paris, Arkansas passed away Wednesday, December 31, 2025, at her home in Paris with her loved ones by her side.
Dixie was born on February 18, 1943, in Mill Valley, California to her parents, Melvin Boatwright and Grace (Dunkle) Boatwright. Dixie worked for AHA-Quin retail store in California as a cashier and store manager and also worked for Cloyes Gear Company in Fort Smith in shipping and receiving. She loved being outside, fishing for catfish, floating down the river or creek and working on her farm taking care of all the animals. She also was a very loving and caring person, she provided a home for foster children in California and here in Arkansas.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband of eighteen years, Stephen Carl Hoopes; two brothers, Dale and Larry Boatwright; three sisters, Beverly Bacchetti, Lynda Clayton and Patricia Wilcox.
She is survived by her son, Wayne Hoopes of Paris, Arkansas; two daughters, Shelley Hamilton and husband, Dennis of Blythe, California and Geraldine Fox and husband, Brian of Manchester, Tennessee; six grandchildren, Tamara Wade, Megan Zandi, Melissa Hoopes, Bambi Barr, Damon Hamilton and Cody Hoopes; ten great grandchildren; several other family members and friends.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Roller Funeral Home in Paris.
