Richard Clem, a beloved father, grandfather, and friend, passed away leaving behind a legacy of kindness, curiosity, and joy. Known for his extensive knowledge, particularly his passion and expertise in wine, Richard was always eager to share his insights and discoveries with those around him. Richard was never stumped in conversation; He was able to expound on most any and all topics and all knew him to be a fount of knowledge.
He found solace and happiness in the simple pleasures of life, especially his frequent walks across the Big Dam Bridge, where he enjoyed the serenity of nature and the beauty of the outdoors. Richard's love for animals was evident in the way he cared for and fed the birds and squirrels that visited his apartment, creating a haven for the wildlife in his community.
Richard is survived by his devoted daughter Kimberly Walker (Allen), cherished grandchildren Joseph Thomas (Brianna), Harleigh Thomas and Luna Walker, great-grandchildren Paxtyn and Joseph David Thomas. He is further survived by extended family members, Stacey Fortney, grandsons Nick and Andrew Fortney, also Joseph Isham (Wendy) and children, Tyler, Amanda, Sarah, Robert Isham (Sharon). He also leaves behind a sister, Eris Canady (Steve) and a brother, Kenneth Harris, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Richard's memory will live on through the countless lives he touched, the nature he nurtured, and the wisdom he shared. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege to know him.
There will be a Graveside Service on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at 10:00am in Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery, 1501 West Maryland Avenue, North Little Rock, Arkansas 72118.

A friend's friend and a lame switchman.
Rest easy Richard Howell Clem.

Richard was a friend who was loved and admired. I met him about 20 years ago when my husband and I happened to see a sign about a wine tasting. So we went inside and from then on we rarely missed one. Yes the wine was great, but it was Richard who made it what it was. Cut to about 5 years later in 2011. I joined the team at Brightwaters Apartments and on my second day, here comes Richard walking, as he did so much, across the parking lot. I spent many hours enjoying conversation with him, listening to his stories and often calling him Professor Clem! I was often simply in awe of his knowledge! I had the privilege of knowing and seeing this kind man through the next 14 years. I considered him a dear friend. He will be missed.

We were one of the lucky families on Ridgeway who called a Richard '' Grandpa.'' He graced all our lives with a love of the simple day to day joys of life. Whether discussing good food, great wine or the trials and tribulations of parenting, Richard was a great listener and advisor. We will miss Grandpa. We think of him often and are so grateful to have had him share those precious years.

I am so grateful that God brought us together as family. You were a dear cousin and I always enjoyed being around you.
Life got so busy as we aged our families didn't share enough time around each other.
Thank you for the years you spent time at the Golf Course with Dad. Your Uncle Willard loved you very much. He was also a wonderful man.
Rest in Peace sweet sole. You will be missed.

Richard happened to come into our life at the perfect time to be the best Step Dad and best Grandpa anyone could ever hope for. Richard said his job was to make sure the kids had confidence and knew they were loved. He did his job very well! His enthusiasm for birding, reading, playing the guitar, banjo, singing, I-Spy & 1000 questions, helping with spelling words, times tables, bringing treats on Friday, and more. There is no end to how much Richard loved our family, and I am forever grateful. Rest in peace Richard. I miss you so much.

Rest easy RH we love you and thanks for raising me and my brother Robert Isham what a true blessing
