Gary loved God, his family, drag racing, and his life's work as an independent oil producer. He served terms as president of the Oil Producers of Arkansas, board member of Arkansas Oil & Gas Museum, contributed to Arkansas oil and gas documentaries and worked with Don Hodel (former US secretary of energy) on energy policy where he helped give a voice to energy producers across the state. Over the years, he owned, operated, and partnered in multiple businesses within the oil industry.
His favorite pastime, drag racing, was a constant thread throughout his lifeā"one that brought him immense joy and lifelong friendships with those who shared his passion.
Gary deeply loved his family and friends, and he made it a point to check on each of them regularly to make sure they were happy, healthy, and knew he was always there for them.

Gray was my second cousin. What a wonderful and generous man he was. Our family is getting smaller by the years but larger in heaven. We will miss him so much. Until we meet again.

Ms. Kay, my heart bleeds for you at this time. I love Mr. Gary, loved visiting with him at the race track, loved his spirit and respect for the drag racing sport and most of all, I loved his never ending kindness. He was such an intelligent and good man. We would talk at the drag strip and I enjoyed listening to him voice his knowledge on many different subjects. He certainly love Jesus, you, his boys and family. Hugs and prayers, my sweet friendā¦ā¦.I know how much you will miss him.
