Nina Ann Bivens

of Guy, AR

December 28, 1941 - August 27, 2025

Nina Ann Battles Bivens went home to be with the Lord and eagerly awaiting family and friends on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at 10:10AM after a sudden illness which was preceded by a month of valiant struggle to rehabilitate a knee replacement and a dramatic stroke. Waiting with the Lord to greet Nina was her husband, Ferron Peyton and her son, Lloyd Wayne, her mother and father, Frankie and Dewayne Battles, her baby brother, Joe, her mother and father-in-law, Elsie and Herman Bivens; her brother-in laws, Joe and Clark, and her sister-in-law, Janette, and many more family and friends, too numerous to name.

Nina was survived by three children, Nancilla Ann Bivens, Judith Andrea Bivens Ostrowski and her husband Steve, and Andrew Howard Bivens and his wife Kristi. She left behind grandchildren; Kandis Bivens Lawrence and her husband Ben, Kaleb Bivens, Kendra Bivens Lucas and husband Jacob, Michael Bivens, Nicole Cotton Leachman and her husband Henry, Kayla LaCasse and her husband Chris, Kyle Ostrowski; great-grandchildren; Elias and Brenna Lawrence, Magnolia and Josiah Lucas, Connor Leachman, Jackson and Oliver LaCasse. She left behind two sisters, Linda Stevenson and Mary Woodall and her husband Ronnie; two brother- in laws, Don Bivens and Hassell Bivens and his wife Sue; nieces and nephews, Amy Jackson and her husband Brian, Bobby Woodall, Dana Bivens Ritter, Doug Bivens, Dusty Bivens Martinez, Heather Bivens DuFresne and her husband Chris, Austin Bivens and his wife Lisa, as well as the children from these loves ones, and many more family and friends, too numerous to name.

Nina built a strong, Christian family with her husband, Ferron and a business which she continued to own and operate after Ferron's death with her son, Andrew. The family she built is strong and they built strong families of their own. We will grieve and grieve long, probably until our own death, or the return of the Lord, but our parents' produced children who will survive and persevere.

Nina was not known for any huge success or legacy that would be acknowledged by the world, although her family and business are existing and thriving. Nina was known and loved by everyone she met because she had a spirit of pure love. She exuded love to everyone she met. Nina remembered every special day of those she knew, not just family but even childhood friends. She remembered because she genuinely loved everyone, and they mattered to her. Their special days became her special days.

She had breakfast every morning with Andy and discussed business concerns and the jobs on hand. She survived cancer, sharing that victory with her daughter, Judy, when she fought her own battle with that disease. She traveled everywhere with Nan when she stopped driving. She, Nan and her sister, Linda, often traveled together calling themselves the Three Amigos. The trips often consisted of doctors visits and every restaurant in Conway.

She and Nan shared a beloved kitten, Sasha Grace, who died the day before her stroke, and will lie in rest with her today.

She remained a vital, physical presence until her stroke one month ago. Her decline was rapid as if her loving heart simply ran out of life force. We go forth today into a world that feels foreign, a place in which this beloved presence no longer dwells. It feels like a colder, lonelier journey but we have the assurance as Christians that we will see her again when we meet her in heaven at the end of our journey. Thank God for that blessed assurance.

Visitation will be on Monday, September 1, 2025, at Roller McNutt Funeral Home in Greenbrier, Arkansas from 6:00-8:00PM. Funeral Service will be Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at 1:00PM at Roller McNutt Funeral Home in Greenbrier with Burial following at Copperas Springs Cemetery in Guy.

Nina and I grew up in Guy. We were neighbors, schoolmates, playmates around the old mulberry tree. In summer I ride my bicycle over to the corner where she lived because the mailman came down Pinnacle Springs Road. We met other friends coming for their mail and we played. While we didn't keep close personal contact for a few years raising our families, I considered her a dear friend and kept up with her on social media. She will be missed by all that knew her and her sweet family.

What a beautiful lady Nina was. I don't think she ever met a stranger. I remember visiting her and Nan on occasion.. she was sassy and full of life. It saddens me, but at the same time, knowing she is in the midst of our savior is so awesome. Her legacy will live on in her family and friends who were blessed to know her. My heartfelt sympathy. May you have peace and comfort from our Lord.

Nina was one of the most loving and genuine people to walk this planet. She accepted me into her life at one years old and I was never treated any differently than any blood relative. There is so much to be said for a family and woman that chooses to accept you as their own as it is the ultimate show of love. Love is what Nina stood for. Her legacy lives on through her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. If we show one ounce of her love we are above the curve. I know we will
Meet again in the great beyond and we couldn't ask for a better angel until then. We love you Nina!

Fred and I are so sorry and sad about Mrs Nina. My deceased husband Jerry Stewart was very good friends with the Bivens family. I loved all of the family myself and am so hurt that she suffered so much. She fought a good fight and will be missed tremendously! May God hold you all in His LOVE ðŸ'• and COMFORT each of you until you meet again. Love and prayers !! Dorothy and Fred Morlan
