of Conway, AR
June 11, 1953 - June 27, 2025
Curt Floyd, life-long resident of Conway, Arkansas, was called home by his Lord June 27, 2025. He was born June 11, 1953, in Conway, a son of Neil S. and Madge Ethridge Floyd, who both preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife Shirley Jones Floyd; daughters Ashley Clay (Josh) and Lindsey Floyd; sons Eric Floyd and Greg Floyd; brother Rex Floyd (Jimmy); stepmother Suzann Talbot Floyd; and grandsons C. J. Floyd, Dawson Floyd, Hunter Clay, and Barak Clay, who all called him ''Papaw''.
Curt was a Conway High School graduate, earned a business degree from the University of Central Arkansas, had a 45-year-long banking career, and retired from Centennial Bank in 2016. During his working life, he was treasurer of the Salvation Army, a Toad Suck Daze volunteer, and a member of Kiwanis, Ducks Unlimited, and the Wild Turkey Federation. He attended New Life Church in Conway.
Hobbies that Curt enjoyed included Bible study, sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ, family activities, hunting, fishing, and watching college football.
According to Curt's wishes, his family held a private graveside service on July 2 at Crestlawn Memorial Park, under the direction of Roller-McNutt Funeral Home of Conway.
My prayers are for Curt's family. Like so many others I met Curt at the Bank but Curt made me feel that I was much more than a customer but a friend. Enjoyed our visits very much and his enthusiasm for life was contagious. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.
We had many good times....love ya ole son
Curt was an amazing man. My step brother Bill Sisson and i built a house for him in the 80s and i have fond memories of his hunting stories at big island. My condolences and prayers to the family
Stunned and saddened to just hear of Curt's passing. Last visited with him at our CHS 50th reunion. He was still the same bright-eyed, smiling loveable guy I remember from our time together in school. I still laugh when I think of the time we were sent to the principal's office and got paddled for not being able to stop laughing in a ninth-grade study hall. The memories of the trip with him, his dad, grandpa and Sug McMillan and his boys to their deer camp on Big Island are still very clear. He's another ole Wampus Cat I'm grateful to have known. Here's wishing fond memories, peace and strength for his family.
So sorry to hear of Curt's passing...he was one of my earliest friends, attending the Irby
school at ASTC. I'm sure his family knows what a kind, thoughtful man he was and never met a stranger! He will be missed by all whose lives he touched.
Deepest sympathy., a great friend. JimMcBride & Charlsie Castleberry McBride
So very sorry to hear of Curt's passing. My family has known his for many years and I worked with him at First National Bank many years ago.
Shirley and family, We are so saddened to just learn of Curt's passing. I (Gene) had a long visit with him standing in ACE Hardware just before he found out he had cancer. He has always been a dear friend and I would usually get a 'bear hug" every time he saw me. It was thru Curt that I came to work for First National Bank Conway. I had worked with him earlier at FNB Little Rock. Curt was a good Christian man who loved his Lord. I have no doubt he is in His presence today. I am so sorry that I did not know of his passing earlier. We will certainly miss him. Our love to all of you.
Shirley & family; I am so sorry about the passing of Curt. But God has called him out of the curse of this earth. And we can rejoice in the knowledge that we will all meet again some day. May God bless you, and take care.
So sorry to hear about Curt. I just now found out that Curt had passed. I thought the world of Curt, he was my banker for many years.
Curt was a good man, a man of integrity and faith. I know he heard ''Well done, good and faithful servant'' when he met Jesus. I am thankful I knew him and could call him friend. Love to all of you.
My deepest sympathy and prayers for this good family. Curt, you will be missed my friend. As you would always say: "I love you man". Rest easy.
So Sorry to hear about Curt. He was so Friendlywhen he passed our house. It was a pleasure to know Him. Thanks Phillip Lipsmeyer
Every time I encountered Curt, he was friendly and so nice. When I wrote for the paper, we swapped stories on Conway's history. Great guy! Sorry for your loss and look forward to seeing him in heaven someday!
To the Family of Curt Floyd,
Sadness filled my Heart when I read of Curt's Passing. But also Heartfelt Joy because when Curt closed his Eyes on Earth, He opened His Eyes in Heaven. He was My First ''Banker'' all I had to do was Tell him what I wanted and he Said'' I'll take care of it'' One of the Strongest Christian Men I knew. Your Family will be in my Prayers as you Navthe Days ahead.
