of Greenbrier, AR
November 10, 1939 - July 9, 2025
George Daniel ''Danny'' Roberts, age 85, of Greenbrier went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, July 9, 2025. Danny was born on November 10, 1939 in Springhill to the late Otis and Lucille Carter Roberts. Danny is preceded in death by his parents; wife of 52 years, Charlotte and granddaughter, Mattison Leigh Clark. Danny married Charlotte Hardy on March 8, 1963. They shared 52 years of marriage until her passing in 2017. Together, they had two children, Robin Clark (Don) and George Roberts (Kristy). They had three grandchildren, Danielle Higgins (Matt), Chase Roberts (Becky), Gavin Roberts (Haley) and 10 great grandchildren.
He was an active member at Bethlehem Baptist Church where he faithfully served as a deacon for many years. Danny graduated from Greenbrier High School in 1957. Later that year, he enlisted in the Army Reserves. Danny was a dedicated husband and father. He valued his family as his greatest asset. Danny was in the dairy business for over 40 years. Along with his wife, Charlotte, they operated Dan-R Farms. Danny was an avid outdoorsman. He loved spending time hunting and fishing. He especially enjoyed time at the family deer camp, Peyton Creek. Danny loved spending time with family and friends; especially over a game of cards. Danny was a wise man: quick to listen and slow to speak. When he gave advice, people listened. He was known as Papaw to his beloved grandchildren and many others.
Danny married Linda Love Hammontree in 2018. They enjoyed 7 years together supporting their grandkids in all activities, spending time with loved ones and participating in events at the Greenbrier Senior Citizen's Center. So sorry to hear of Danny's passing. He is part of many wonderful memories of shared times at Bethlehem Baptist Church, and after church at Danny and Robin's, and Silburn and Audra Hardy's homes. He always made you feel so calm and welcome with his quiet, gracious and thoughtful manners. Wishing his family peace and strength.
Joe and I just heard about Danny's passing. It got us reminiscing about all the wonderful times we shared ''up on the mountain''.
I remember what a kind man he was to me when I was just a kid. Riding on the tractor with him during hay season (things no one would do today) and eating Charlotte's lemon ice box pie with fresh, cold milk.
What wonderful friends they always were to Ruby and Arch. I still remember that they were the last people to leave the house the day of Archie's funeral and how Charlotte and Ruby hugged. What sweet witnesses of God's love they always were.
God bless the entire family. Danny was one of the greats!

So sorry for the loss of such a kind and caring man, our boys loved watching Mr. Danny out in the field on his tractor or working the cows and it made their day for him to pass the house and wave. Keeping the family in our thoughts and prayers.

I knew Danny because he was a dairy farmer, as we were growing up. Danny was involved with the county fair, showing cattle. Even at my young age I could tell how Danny was a very humble man. I know that the Robert's family will miss him. Prayers for comfort and peace for the family.
Danny & Charlotte used the farm records computerized accounting service Agrifax. I was the coordinator of this program and visited with them monthly as they brought their accounting by information to me.
I've been a friend and acquaintance long after retirement. I have family attending Bethlehem Church and have visited with him and his wife Linda on numerous occasions since.
Danny will be missed by all that knew him. He was a very good man.
Danny was the ''real deal'' Christian and gentlemen. I know our Savior is hugging him close. Praying for the family. Psalm 116:15
