Dana Warren Junkin, 61, of Yellville, Arkansas, formerly from Riverside, Iowa and Raymore, Missouri, passed away on July 1, 2025.

Dana (Pops) was born on October 9, 1963, in Washington, Iowa to Jim and Jolaine Junkin. In 1969, the family moved to Kansas City, Missouri and eventually Raymore, Missouri where Dana attended Raymore-Peculiar schools. After graduating high school, he joined the United States Marine Corps and served proudly for 4 years. Dana worked as an underwater welder, electrician, mechanic, bounty hunter, and heavy equipment operator.

He battled multiple health problems for many years resulting from the time he was stationed at Camp Lejeune in North Carolina. He was a strong, disciplined individual who always believed in the Marine slogan: ''Improvise, Adapt and Overcome.''

Dana is survived by his loving wife, Mary Moet Junkin; his children Tiara Meyer, Tyler Junkin (Chelsey) and stepson, Michael Bachtel (Jordan); grandchildren, Kynlie Florio, Kannen Florio, Ryder Busby and Rheagan Junkin; parents, Jim and Jolaine Junkin; brother, Shawn Junkin (Bridget); sister, Marni Herndon (Tod); and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and Moet family members.

A Celebration of Life for family and friends will be held at the family home on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at 11:00 a.m.

Arrangements in the care of Roller-Burns Funeral Home in Yellville, Arkansas.

Dana will be remembered as one of the strongest men we were blessed to call friend. He and Mary were the first couple that we met after moving here from TX. Dana quickly became my husband's best friend and we spent lots of time with him and Mary going fishing, out to lunch, seeing sights, walking flea markets, and playing Phase Ten. His presence will certainly be missed but not forgotten.
