Marilyn Ruth Deckard, 83, of Quitman, Arkansas passed away on Tuesday, April 9, 2024. She was born on January 2, 1941 in Quitman to the late George and Pearl (Holland) Martin.

Marilyn graduated from Quitman High School in 1958 and attended Arkansas State Teachers College, now known as the University of Central Arkansas. Marilyn worked at the Bank of Quitman, later 1st National Bank and retired after 36 years of service. She also served as an EMT on the Quitman Ambulance Service for over 20 years.

Marilyn has been a member of Mt. Pleasant Methodist Church since August 2, 1952. In addition to her parents and a brother, Noel Hardin Martin; she was preceded in death by her son, Scotty Douglas ''Doug'' Deckard on April 30, 2017. Survivors are her first cousins, and many other relatives and friends as well as her loved ones on the Deckard side of the family.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00am on Friday, April 12, 2024 at Mt. Pleasant Methodist Church in Quitman. Burial will immediately follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.

So sorry to learn of Marilyn's passing. She was such a sweet lady. I know she missed Doug terribly. I am thankful that she reunites with him once again, and that she is in the arms of Jesus. Rest easy sweet cousin.

Will miss her dearly and our talks through messages. She was always positive about everything. She is the last cousin my sister Daphne and I had from the Martin side of the family. My heart breaks.
