Thomas Webb

of Bryant, AR

August 29, 1949 - September 21, 2022

Thomas C. Webb, 73, of Bryant, Arkansas died on September 21, 2022. He was born August 29, 1949 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas to the late Benjamin and Mary Cook Webb.

Thomas grew up in Gould, Arkansas. Thomas went on to study mathematics and coaching at The University of Arkansas at Monticello. He earned a master's degree at University of Oklahoma. He was drafted by baseball teams out of college, to play pro baseball, but turned those down to pursue his teaching career. He taught math for over 30 years in Arkansas, spending many years in the Little Rock School District and in the Bryant District. Most of all, Thomas was proud of his time spent coaching girl's basketball, leading his 1983 team to a win in the overall state tournament. Coaching was definitely something he took much pride in, his team was more like family to him. Thomas was also very proud of the years he spent teaching algebra with his Little Rock F.R.O.G.S. team.

Thomas is preceded in death by his parents and stepson, Eric Webster. He is survived by his beloved wife of 17 years, Jennifer Webb; son, Trent Webb; two daughters, Mellissa Epperson and Christie Hale; one grandchild, Catherine Epperson and many friends.

Visitation will be held at Roller-Alcoa Funeral Home (6700 Alcoa Rd., Benton, Ar. 72015) on Thursday, September 29, 2022 from 6:00p.m. to 8:00p.m.

It is sad to learn of Coach Webb passing on. He was my football coach at Glenwood in 1973 & 74. He taught me to give my best effort. RIP Coach Webb.

Sorry to hear of his passing and know he had impacts on many, especially the girls basketball program which we all remember being very good! Coach Webb was also a great football coach! He coached us/me during my Jr year when Bryant , for the first time ever, beat Benton in 1978 as well as 3 top 10 teams...Benton, Joe T. and Lonoke. He will be missed but remembered by many on whom he influenced through his life. RIP Coach!

As I read the heart felt posts of all my Lady Hornet teammates, I am flooded with great memories of fun times, hard work, dedication and amazing wins. I was lucky enough to have you as a coach, mentor and friend from 7th -12th grade. I was also blessed to be able to keep in touch through Christmas cards each year. I thank you for teaching us about teamwork—“There is no I in TEAM”—sacrifice and accountability. These traits have served me well in every area of life. Thank you for pushing us past our limits to achieve our goals. You are one of a kind and I am grateful to your family for sharing you with us and to you for putting up with all our craziness! What a fun time we had as Lady Hornets!! ❤️🏀

What an imprint you left in the hearts and souls of so many. You inspired us all to become the BEST versions of ourselves both on and off the court. What you seeded in each of us will endure forever because it is WHO WE ARE as we impact the lives of those around us.

May all who have benefited from your influence, be comforted by memories created and good times shared. Rest In Peace BELOVED COACH.

You came to Bryant my Senior year. I'll never forget you saying, "if you are a Senior and you don't start, you won't stay. " You worked our tails off. Conditioning us for Basketball and Life. Thank you for pushing us to be our best! Wish I could have said goodbye, but I will see you in Heaven. My thoughts and prayers for your family 🙏❤️. Robin

Coach Webb,
Some people help you accomplish things that you never thought you could. You had a gift of pushing us to reach our potential even when we didn’t see it. I am thankful for you and all you taught me. I carry the torch each day because you fueled my love for basketball In turn you fueled my love for helping others and understanding what being on a team meant.
Love you and I’m sorry I didn’t get to say goodbye.
❤️Karen

Coach Webb mainly helped us, through basketball, realize our strenghts and each others strengths. I would have never ended up being a physical education/classroom teacher if I had not had Coach Web instill the love of fitness and teaching in me. I'm very thankful for him.
