Larry James Wilson

of Quitman, AR

March 17, 1954 - August 17, 2022

Larry James Wilson, 68, of Quitman, Arkansas, passed away peacefully at his home on August 17, 2022 surrounded by his loved ones after a hard-fought battle with an aggressive cancer.

Larry was born March 17, 1954 in Little Rock, Arkansas, the son of Horace E. and Inez (Fenley) Wilson of Bryant. He grew up in Little Rock and graduated from Central High School. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents, Thomas and Laura Wilson of Malvern and Virgil and Anilene (Linn) Fenley of Quitman; his best friend, Bill Dixon of Little Rock and his special little boy, ''Peanut''.

Larry is survived by his loving wife of 19 Years, Rebecca (Triplet) Wilson of Quitman; daughter and son-in-law, Jamie and Jared Deason; grandson, James Deason; granddaughter, Charlee Deason all of Little Rock; brothers, David (Becky) Wilson and niece, Janna (Colton) Leonard of Bryant, Mark (Liz), Marcus and Alanah of Quitman; special great-niece, Rozlynn Hampton of Maumelle and many friends and extended family.

Larry was a Methodist and a member of the Quitman United Methodist Church, where he served as Lay Leader, board member and the leader of the Adult Sunday School Class.

Larry was a wholesale wine and spirits salesman for Moon Distributing since 1992 until the present. This was a job he was born to do, if you knew Larry you would know that he had the gift of gab or some would say the gift to ''B.S.'', but he loved what he did and enjoyed all the great friends he made over the years, not only his co-workers, but his customers as well and many lifelong friends.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to everyone at Carti, Dr. Stern, Dr. Ross and especially Dr. Ryan Hall for their compassion, Kindred Hospice, Robert, Lindsay and Millissa. Also, thanks to John and Jamie Stark for the care I know you gave Larry up until the very end. Thank you, Brother Mike, Ken and Sheila Duncan, David Wilson and everyone that was there.

Visitation will be from 6:00pm to 8:00pm Saturday, August 20, 2022 at Roller- McNutt Funeral Home in Greenbrier. Funeral services will be 2:00pm, Sunday at Quitman United Methodist Church, with Brother Mike Yarman officiating. Burial will follow at Quitman Cemetery.

I always wondered where Larry moved to & what he was doing. We attended Garland Elementary school together. Any time we had the same teacher, they would have Larry, myself , & another boy stand up & sing happy birthday to us because we were all born on the same day. In fact, his mother and my mother were next door to each other, in the hospital, when we were born. So sorry for your lose. I had a big crush on him in elementary school. He was a person

What a great man. Always a smile and sincere demeanor. Deepest sympathies to his family. He always beamed with pride and joy when he spoke of his family. I would bet to say he never met a stranger bc he had an ease about him that made you feel like you had known him your whole life. Such an awesome human.

Our hearts hurt for our long-time friend. Larry knew how we felt about him. He was the most wonderful man you would ever meet, and an even better friend. We loved him very deeply. We were so blessed to be with him a lot and until he drew his last breath. Thank you Rebecca for allowing us to be with him, you, Jamie, Jarrod, David, Donna, Brenda and Harold. There was no other place we would rather be, but with the family we love…….
