Marilyn Faye McNabb

of Greenbrier, AR

October 26, 1935 - August 7, 2022

Marilyn Faye McNabb, age 86, of Greenbrier, Arkansas entered the beautiful gates of Heaven on Sunday, August 7, 2022, at 5:07pm at Conway Regional Medical Center. Marilyn was born October 26, 1935, in Vinson, Oklahoma to the late Marshall Commodore McGuire and Rhoda Mabel Roper. She married Louis Gene McNabb on March 23, 1956.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Milton McGuire of Arlington, Texas and Marlon McGuire of Tulsa, Oklahoma; sister, Mildred Joyce Olive of Dallas, Texas.

Marilyn was a devout Christian who was saved and baptized at an early age in the Nazarene church and was a member for 80 years. She was very involved in Women's Bible Study over the years. After retiring to Arkansas, she and her spouse, Louis, served as Volunteer Missionaries in Central America for four years.

She received her B.S. in Elementary Education from Bethany Nazarene College, Bethany Oklahoma in 1963 and her M.S. in Diagnostic Teaching from University of Houston/Clear Lake, Houston, Texas in 1987. She taught in the State of California for six years and retired in 1991 from Pasadena School District, Pasadena, Texas with a total of twenty-one years teaching in the State of Texas.

She loved to spend time with her grandchildren & great-grandchildren. Her hobbies included flower arrangement, interior decorating, putting jigsaw puzzles together and traveling. She loved her many dogs that were close by her side during various times in her life.

Marilyn had a quick, dry wit despite dealing with various health issues over the years. She had an endearing smile and always got in the last word. When she laughed, it was infectious and we miss that sweet spirit of hers around us now.

Marilyn will lovingly be remembered by her husband and best friend of 67 years, Louis McNabb of Greenbrier. She is survived by two sons, Steven (Angela) McNabb of Sardis and Thomas McNabb of Greenbrier and one daughter, Sheri (Travis) Darden of Arcadia, OK; brother, Michael McGuire of Livingston, CA; sister, Marsha Carol Lynn of Paradise, CA; grandchildren, Lindsey (Al Moats) of Greenbrier, Savannah McNabb of Greenbrier, Billy McNabb of Sardis and Sam McNabb of Conway; great-grandchildren, Hunter & Hadley Moats and Rowan & Baylor McNabb of Greenbrier; daughter-in-law, Kelly McNabb of Greenbrier. She also had an unofficially adopted daughter, Sandra Salazar from Tuxtla, Mexico. She is also survived by grandchildren, Josh Strout of Kansas City, Missouri and Jessi Strout of Edgerton, Kansas.

Visitation with the family will be at 9:00am Saturday, August 13, 2022 at Greenbrier Church of the Nazarene, 64 N. Broadway, Greenbrier, AR. A Celebration of Life will follow at 10:00am. After the service, a private family burial will be at Thorn Cemetery, Greenbrier.

Pallbearers will be Al Moats, Billy McNabb, Sam McNabb, Kurt McGuire, Randy McGuire and Travis Darden.

My mother was a precious God fearing woman who had a huge heart for the unsaved. She loved her kids, grandkids and great grandkids dearly. She will be missed and I will most definitely miss, saying "I love you mom!"
