John David Hall

of Little Rock, AR

June 9, 1973 - May 9, 2022

John David Hall was born at 32 weeks gestation on June 9, 1973, weighing 3 1/2 pounds. He had premature lungs and had to fight for his every breath. All that was available at that time was hood oxygen, but his fighting spirit gave him the determination to survive. He died May 9, 2022. He attended Little Rock Catholic High School, then the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, graduating with a degree in English in 1995. He is survived by his parents, Nancy Scott (Rick) and Dr. Whit Hall (Lisa), his siblings, Richard, James (Piper), Jesse, Nate (Jill), Mary, Annabeth and Christian Hall and Caroline Sorrows (Tommy). He is also survived by 18 nieces and nephews and a host of other friends and relatives.

His passion for life was not to be denied. He loved music (especially folk music), and playing the guitar. Although he practiced playing his instrument religiously, he played mainly for his own enjoyment; his friends just tolerated it. His kindergarten class, however, loved his playing and singing. They were inspired by his enthusiasm, although not necessarily by his talent. John loved the Razorbacks. He rarely missed a game and supported them through good years and the rare losing seasons. This past year delighted him! He was also an avid hunter and fisherman, spending many days (and nights) waiting for that elusive twelve point. As a testament to his gentle nature, when the big one did show up, John watched that beautiful animal through his scope on that frosty November morning with all the autumn color in the woods, lowered his rifle, and watched that big buck saunter away.

John's real passion and gift was teaching young children. In the classroom, he was known as "Mr. John". He loved to teach his students how to dance; he especially loved "freeze dancing" music. He worked at Children's House Montessori School most of his adult life where he influenced a generation of young students. Within the family, he had a special relationship with his many nieces and nephews. He was definitely their favorite uncle.

His personality was defined by his heart: kind and gentle. His final act of kindness was to donate his organs through ARORA, a wonderful organization, in order to give others life. His spirit will live on in this world, in his young students and in those to whom he gave the final gift through his last donation. He was just that kind of man.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like you to donate to your favorite charity in memory of John. Our suggestions include the Home for Healing, the Ronald McDonald House and Ukraine charities such as the World Health Organization. Visitation will be Wednesday, May 11, 2002, at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home, 13801 Chenal Pkwy, Little Rock, from 6-8 PM. A Celebration of Life will be Thursday, May 12, 2022, at 4 PM, at Christ Episcopal Church, 509 Scott St, Little Rock.

Please accept my most sincere condolences, I have nothing but fond memories of John David - we grew up together in Montessori. He was always funny, kind, smart, and full of laughter; he was a good friend. My name was Kesha Moore then, I'm Mrs. Deborah's daughter.

Mrs. Nancy, I'm so sorry for your loss. I'm praying God's perfect peace and comfort for your family.

Such a handsome young man who obviously was a tender hearted and gentle fellow. I will keep his family in my prayers - they will surely miss such a wonderful personality as John. I hope you will all write down your favorite memories and share them with oneanother. 32 years is not as long a lifetime as he deserved but GOD has reasons we do not know...

Our prayers are with you all. We lost our Brooks at the age of 21. May the good Lord wrap his arms around you all & provide comfort in knowing where John David is and that he is doing just fine. Our Brooks played guitar in a band.......they are both jammin' with Stevie Ray Vaughan right now.

John's story touches my heart in a deep and personal way. It is such a tragedy to lose such a special person so full of life and promise. Thank God for the precious time his family and friends had him here. I am a full liver transplant recipient, so I understand well how important and valuable this gift is. Johns life in the flesh will continue here in this world and by this gift and his beautiful spirit & legacy will also continue for decades to come. God bless the family and I pray God brings you peace in knowing John lives on with The Father in Heaven and on this Earth in the flesh.

What a fun-loving man John is...who apparently shared that love of life with young generations. To all family who influenced John to be so serving and loving of children, thank you. Our world needs people like that. We are praying for your comfort as we know the heartache of losing our son too soon.

I have known John since he was an infant and this obituary so correctly describes his kindness and gentleness. I would also describe him as a protector, always standing up for the little guy and the oppressed.

John Hall will be missed in this world.
