Jesse Shane Boshears

of Perryville, AR

March 11, 2001 - March 3, 2022

Jesse Shane Boshears passed away March 03, 2022. He was born March 11, 2001. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Carl Boshears and Michael Crain. He is survived by his parents, Shane Boshears (Nikki Long, Ashlee, Milan, Aubree) and Shelly (Chad) Vincent; fiancé, Maggie Skinner; brother, Camden Boshears; stepbrother, Tyler Vincent; stepsister, Brilee Vincent; grandparents, Opal Boshears, Mary (Gary) Coleman, Shelia (Larry) Vincent; great-grandmother Versee Crain; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and a multitude of friends.

Jesse grew up in Perryville surrounded by a large family who adored him. He attended Perryville Schools for all 12 years. While playing football for the Mustangs he was a team leader and helped the team form the motto ''Stand Strong'' which became the motto of his life and which he embodied to the end. He signed to play football for the University of Central Arkansas and later transferred to Arkansas Tech. He maintained an excellent grade point average and enjoyed playing football, meeting new people, and forming new relationships.

Jesse was so many things: A son, fiancé, grandson, brother, nephew, cousin, friend, athlete, musician, hunter, fisherman, a mentor to children, and above all a Christian. And let's not forget he was a food connoisseur. He enjoyed a good meal and the fellowship that came with it. He was a warm, loving, gentle giant.

Jesse attended the Hollis Jesus Name Pentecostal church and from an early age showed a special bond to Jesus with his testimony, praise, and music. We will be forever in debt to Brother Rick and Sister Pat for their love and support to him.

Jesse entered the hospital on June 29th to begin a nearly 9-month battle. He endured every obstacle that came his way with the complete faith of a Christian along with the dignity and determination of a strong Soul until God said ''enough''. Though it was not what we wanted, it was what he needed and somehow what we asked for which was: ''A complete healing so Jesse could spread God's word and use his life for the Glory of God''. Most importantly to those who loved him, he will have - No More Suffering.

His legacy will be 20 years of Christian light, love, and inspiration spread everywhere he went and to everyone he met.

The family would like to express their deep appreciation to the Doctors, Nurses, and Staff at Baptist Hospital for the care, respect and love they showed Jesse during his long stay there.

Finally, ''we can all be inspired to do things a little differently just because of how Jesse fought to live one more day every day. We should be driven by his story to resist small setbacks and little inconveniences because life is precious. It's that simple'' (NB)

We moved to Perryville 2 yrs ago and feel so blessed to live in such a close community. We are so sadden by the loss of this young man. We did not know him as so very many did. Our condolences to his fiance family and friends. It's so inspirational to see how this town has rallied together in prayer and love for Jesse and his family thru the entire journey that lead him to heaven. May GOD bless you all and pray you feel GODS arms around you holding you as you go in life without Jesse.

I had the honor and privilege of talking to Jesse one day at school. I remember sitting at the top of the stairs by the office. And it was just Jesse and I. We had a very interesting conversation. I didn't know Jesse all that well and he sort of intimidated me. With Jesse being a gentle giant and all, I come to realize that I didn't have anything to worry about. Jesse will be missed. I tried to keep up with what was going on with him. Thank you Shelley, so much for letting us be a part of his life through updates. He will forever have a place in my heart. And one thing that we all was wanting and that we got, was of him being healed. No more pain. God thank you so much for taking care of Jesse and healing him. Jesse, you are so loved, more than you will ever know. May you RIP. Fly high Jesse.

Such heartbreaking sadness … I worked with Brittni and she told me about Jesse, and has kept me updated. I just read the news that Jesse has 'graduated' from earth to heaven where is rejoicing in Jesus' very presence… yet, such incredible grief for those who knew and loved Jesse. My Heart hurts for you all. May God blanket you in His love. I am so sorry.

We have been keeping up with Jesse's story since day one (through Mellicent Crain). He showed so much perseverance throughout his battle. He was also the Light of Christ to so many people. My hope is that his story will bring more people into His kingdom.
Praying continuously that his family has a sense of peace knowing where he is and that his body if finally healed.

Like so many others, I didn't know Jesse or any of his family personally, I just happened upon a FB post months ago about his COVID battle and began to follow the support page. Everyday I'd pray for progress. I don't think anyone would disagree but we all cheered when things were looking positive and we all felt your pain and discouragement when things took a step backwards. Jesse became FB family to all of us, and so many hearts are hurting but we rejoice in knowing that Jesse is whole and he is at home with our Lord and Savior! I know you all find peace in knowing this. My thoughts and prayers are with all who loved this amazing young man. What a fighter he was! ❤️

I was an Equipment Manager for UCA and had the blessing of meeting Jesse freshman year of college.
Jesse is genuinely one of the best guys I have ever met. Even when there were bad days at practice Jesse was always upbeat and continually had a great attitude. He encouraged everyone around him and was always willing to talk. After practice at meals I often wouldn't have anyone to sit with, but Jesse would be there and I would have someone to eat with.
Jesse has had a positive impact in my life and I'm sure many others as well.
He will be missed, but he will always be remembered.

I did not know Jesse personally, but heard about his battle with COVID by a local church here in the Village that was praying for him. I followed his facebook page and hoped and prayed for his healing. His life had a huge impact on me and many others. I rejoice that he knew Jesus. We lost one of our children at a very young age and though I could not understand why He allowed him to go to heaven so young, I found peace in knowing that he was safe with Jesus. At the end of each of our lives, that is all that will matter. Jesse lived his short life for Christ and set an example for all of us to follow. We do not know what each of our future holds, but we know Who holds our futures. Your whole family has impacted my life and I pray the Lord's comfort for you all in the days and years to come.

I am a nurse that monitored ICU patients at BHLR, so I followed Jesse since admission. I watched everything he went through daily, one challenge after the other! In 29 years of being an ICU nurse, I have never witnessed anyone overcome the complications & issues that Jesse did. Everyday I opened his chart, praying he was still with us. What a strong fighter he was! I also followed on fb through ''Support for Jesse'' and prayed many days for him & his family! I personally did not know him, but he has touched my heart & on days when I thought life was hard….I thought of Jesse! I am so sad he is not here to continue to be a light to others, but I know God has plans that exceed what our human mind can comprehend. To his family, I am so very sorry & will keep you all in my prayers! RIL&P Jesse Shane Boshears! 🙏🏻❤️

I have been following Jesse's story I guess since it aired on the local News station, and on FB. I've prayed for him many many times. I'm deeply saddened for the loss of this very young , handsome, talented young man. Even though our prayers weren't answered in the way we wished, we must remember.. God loved Jesse too. Jesse is experiencing joy and peace that we cannot comprehend in this world. He is waiting on the other side to be reunited with us. Make plans to be there now. The word says ''Gods ways are not our ways, nor His thoughts our thoughts''. This scripture goes on so beautifully, but I can't remember the rest. We must Trust the Father that He has a plan. Not to harm us but to Bless us. I myself am learning to say ''God I trust you''.
My heartfelt condolences to all who have been touched by this young man.

She just lit up talking about him and what a fine person he was and how much in love they were. It is obvious that he made a wonderful impression on such a wide range of people. God gave Jesse a servant's heart and Jesse used it to fulfill his mission here on this earth. We can all take lessons as to how well he lived his life. He accomplished so much in the 20 years he lived on this earth. Prayers for comfort and peace for family and friends in the days and months ahead.

I did not know Jesse personally. But his story touched me in such a profound and beautiful way. I followed his story on Facebook and talked to many of my friends and Perryville about him and his life. His story increased my prayer life… My heart was so drawn to pray for him and the whole family. I prayed for God to perform a miracle through Jessie and Hello Jesse is not with us anymore i believe there is a miracle still. The miracle of being with the one true miracle of creation, Jesus Christ. Reading the stories about his life confirm that Jesse's life, living and serving God touched so many other peoples lives! I lived in Perryville for many years… My son played football at perryville high school. And my daughter was a cheerleader ninth through 12th grade. It was a wonderful place to raise children… Community, friends, family it's a strong part of Perryville. And obviously the Perryville community was blessed To have Jesse Boshears a part of it. I pray for peace and comfort for the family. And I'm sure his life will be celebrated for years to come.

We give them back to thee, dear Lord, who gavest them to us. Yet as thou didst not lose them in giving, so we have not lost them by their return. What thou gavest thou takest not away, O Lover of souls; for what is thine is ours also if we are thine. And life is eternal and love is immortal, and death is only an horizon, and an horizon is nothing save the limit of our sight. Lift us up, strong Son of God, that we may see further; cleanse our eyes that we may see more clearly; and draw us closer to thyself that we may know ourselves to be nearer to our loved ones who are with thee. And while thou dost prepare for us, prepare us also for that happy place, that where they are and thou art, we too may be for evermore. -William Penn-

Jesse was the perfect example for his stand for God. I didn't know him well, but he was so kind and good hearted. He and Maggie are so much alike. My heart goes out for you and his dad, and Maggie. Our thoughts and prayers will keep on going for a long while. He will be missed.

I wish I could've met Jesse! We prayed in our Woman's Prayer Group every Monday night! Our prayers may not have been answered like we wanted but it was all God's plan! Praying for the family and friends as they carry on with what Jesse would have wanted!

Jessie was truely an inspiration to anyone that was around him. His faith in God and love for Maggie is what I believe kept him here on earth as long as he did. He was sunshine in a bodily form, always had a smile on his face. He will be missed.

Jesse was a true inspiration to all who met him♥️ Always had a smile on his face and kind words for all. For Maggie , my heart truly aches for you, I pray you can find comfort and strength in the fact that he loved you and only you and wanted to spend the rest of his life loving you as he did♥️ Remember that as you fight hard to move on. I met Jesse working the summer job at Perryville Elementary. He was an extraordinary young man. One day he prepared a luncheon for the summer workers and served each one of us the delicious meal. You could see the love in his heart and face as he was serving each one of us. The love he has for ''God'' showed through the wonderful family he has and the beautiful sharing of ''God's '' words his mother shared through Jesse illness. He will truly be missed and Jesse I'm so thankful to have met you I will never forget you. Love ❤️ you till we meet again one day. May you Rest In Peace.

To Jesse's family and friends,

He was amazing young man that practiced lead by example everyday and the minute you met him all you wanted to do hug him. Shelly & Shane I know there are no comforting words but look around you and see how many lives Jesse touched. When you see a Red bird know that is Jessie checking on his family. I will keep you all in my thoughts and prayers.

Jesse, you are missed. Thankyou for being my journal and always giving me the advice I needed. Thankyou for being the only guy that I felt comfortable talking about everything too. Thankyou for being the light in the darkness. Thankyou for letting me call you a friend. Your light will always shine through! Rest easy, big guy.
