Evelyn C. Hall

of Clinton, AR

September 10, 1935 - September 14, 2021

Evelyn Claydean Knopp Hall was born September 10, 1935, in Martinville, Arkansas as the only child of Clayton and Ladon Latimer Knopp. She departed her earthly existence on Tuesday, September 14, 2021 in Clinton, Arkansas with her daughter, Kim, at her side.

Evelyn married Don Hall and to their union 2 children were born, Mark Alan and Kimberly Ann. Evelyn was widowed at an early age and from that point on, concentrated on time with Mark, Kim, and their friends.

As a single Mother, Evelyn knew that decisions concerning her family's way of life would have to be made. She gave that choice to her children. She told them, ''we can either have a fancy house or we can go and do'' ... so go and do they did. Evelyn, Mark, Kim and many friends kept the road busy. Their family road trips led them to seemingly endless rodeos, ballgames, car and 3 wheeler races. Evelyn's house was a roosting place for most of Kim and Mark's friends. It was not unusual for every possible sleeping place to be taken up by teens tired from their travels. They could rest assured she would have something to fill their ravenous appetites when they awoke.

Evelyn enjoyed trips to Branson to see Mickey Gilley. She and lifelong friend, Nelda Nichols, make the trek to see Mickey time and time again. It seems like every adventure with these 2 ladies yielded plenty of stories of their entertaining escapades. Kim went to visit her Mom after she and Nelda had taken a shopping trip to Little Rock. When she was being asked how the outing went, she began to laugh-and laugh hard. She then confessed, ''Sis, I think we helped someone steal a car''. They had helped someone push a car in the parking lot of Sears. The news had ran a story on a car being stolen in that parking lot at the same time Evelyn and Nelda were helping these men push ''their'' car.

Evelyn was well known for her baking skills. She would bake delicious cakes and cookies and would always share her baked delights. She was quite the sharing person. If she had something, she wanted you to have some of it too.
Evelyn was blessed with very good friends and neighbors on, what they called ''Widow Hill''. They took care of each other. She never met a stranger and would gladly strike up a conversation with anyone near her. Going to Penney's and Walmart gave her great opportunities to meet new friends. If you sat next to her at a rodeo, by the time you left, you were her buddy and she had shared her coffee and snacks with you.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and son, Mark. She is survived by her daughter, Kim, daughter-in-law, Martha Singley and husband Larry, and special friends, Laura Guthrie, Nelda Nichols, Jeanie Tacker, George and Karen Leding, Becky McCollum, Annie Karber, and Kay McNeil.

In keeping with Evelyn's wishes, no funeral service will be held. Visitation will be held Saturday September 18th from 9:00-10:00AM at Roller McNutt in Greenbrier followed by a graveside service at 11:00AM at the Martinville Cemetery near Damascus.

Correctly worn masks, social distancing, and hand hygiene are required for visitation and graveside service.
