Laraine E. Stevenson, 73, of Greenbrier Arkansas, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on August 17, 2021. Laraine was born on May 25th, 1948 to the late John Alvis & Fauline Lewallen, in Conway, Arkansas. She attended Conway High School, where she graduated in 1966. Laraine spent the next 32 years teaching, splitting her time between Guy-Perkins and Quitman School Districts.

Laraine was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Greenbrier. She loved her ministry as a Nursery worker, and loved those babies as if they were her own.
She is survived by her daughter, Melissa Stevenson Duncan (Keith), granddaughters Addison Paige Duncan and Lauren Elizabeth Duncan. One brother, Larry Lewallen (Renee), and a host of nieces & nephews who had a special relationship with their Aunt Laraine.

Laraine's greatest loves were her granddaughters, and their numerous Branson shopping trips. She also enjoyed travel, her art classes and was an avid reader. Laraine cherished her family, and could not have been a more loving Mother, Nana or friend.

Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00PM Friday, August 20, 2021 at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Greenbrier. Funeral Service will begin at 2:00PM Saturday, August 21, 2021 at Bethlehem Baptist Church with Burial following at Old Liberty Cemetery in Conway.

Melissa,

My mama is Becky, so we are second cousins. Mama has always told such sweet stories about growing up with your mom. Your mom joked that I must have named my daughter Rayne after her.

I can only imagine how much your heart hurts. Wishing peace to you, your children and Uncle.

Love to you,
Tonia

For those of us who were her students, this is truly a sad loss of not only a teacher, but also a dear friend. At Guy-Perkins, we had Mrs. Laraine, for First, & Sixth Grades, & As A Senior Class Sponsor. She was not only patient & firm, but she also had a sense of humor even when we got under her skin, LOL, She truly loved her students and we truly loved her too. Rest In God's Peace, Mrs. Laraine Stevenson, & God Bless You, Melissa & The Rest Of Your Family. - Damon C. "D.C." Poole, II

To Laraine’s daughter and granddaughters.

I met Laraine in junior high school about a year after I moved to Conway. Although we haven’t seen much of each other since high school, our paths would frequently cross and we’d speak a few words.

I remember her as very very sweet and fun loving. Never knew her to say an unkind word about anyone.

I am so very sorry for your loss and pray your memories, faith, family and friends will sustain you during this most difficult of times.
