September 27, 1945 - September 23, 2020

William ''Bill'' Hilton Lister, age 74, of Pittsburgh, PA, passed away on Wednesday, September 23, 2020.

He was born in Fort Smith, Arkansas on September 27, 1945, the son of the late Donald W. Lister and Mary Yvonne Warner.

Beloved husband of Darlene (Yeager) Lister; Loving father of Kimberly (Joe) Banks of Brookland, AR, Stephen (Robin) Lister of Sherwood, AR, Martina Lister of Germany, Dr. Mark (Lacy) Lister of New Orleans, LA, Donald Joseph ''Joey'' (Sarah) Lister of Sherwood, AR, Megan Hillis of Haymarket, VA; Step-father to Dina Pater of Wexford, PA. Dustin (Elin) Parker of Ostraver, OH, Kathleen (Bill) Gray of Cuddy, PA and Angel Bon of McDonald, PA; Cherished grandfather of Lauren Clayton, Alex Lister, Corey Gearhart, Austin Lister, Daniel Lister, Joseph Lister, Briella Hillis, Emma Lister, Dax Hillis, Eleanor Lister, Claire Lister, Cameron McChesney, Delaney Pater, Lucas Pater, Savannah Parker, Denny Parker, Billy Gray, Ashley (John) Davis, Josh (Anna) Banks and Allie Banks; Proud great-grandfather of Mila Lister, Karleigh Baskin, Piper, Hattie, J.J. & O.P. Banks and Grey & Beck Davis; Dear brother to his twin, Samuel Lister of Fairfield Bay, AR, Lorri Burnett of El Paso, TX and Heidi Harrall of Charlestown, RI; his beloved dog Duke and he is survived by many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, William was preceded in death by his brothers Allen Bidwell and Donald ''Guy'' Lister, brother-in-law David ''Crocus'' Burnett, great-grandson Bentley Lister and his beloved Buddy.

William proudly served Our Country in the United States Army as a Combat Veteran during the Vietnam War where he received a Silver Star during combat. Bill never met a stranger and always made a point to speak to other Veterans in person or a note on a vehicle. He was a jack of all trades; he could repair or build anything he put his mind to. He loved his family and friends fiercely. He would drop everything to be anywhere he was needed. His love for life was in his Old School Man Cave Garage and his friends who came to hang out. Restoring antique cars was his passion along with traveling with family and spending time together, showing all the cars he restored at the car cruises and lastly the Soapbox Derby's. Bill will never truly know the impact he had on others or how much he was loved and respected by all who knew him.

Visitation will be held at Roller Owens Funeral Home, 5509 John F Kennedy Blvd, North Little Rock, AR 72116 on Thursday October 1, 2020 from 3PM to 7PM, with family receiving friends from 5PM to 7PM. Interment and Full Military Honors will follow at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery on October 2, 2020 at 12PM.

Bill, I am so sorry it took this long to find you, especially in the Obits. Your obituary does you justice. I remember in Nam at Phouh Vin about 1970 when you DEROSed out You said you would check on my wife and child for me while visiting Indiana. My wife was very pleased you and your first wife came to visit and the letter you mailed to me telling me wife was fine and my daughter had all 10 fingers and 10 toes sure relieved my anxieties.
Thank You Bill ! Till we meet again! your Friend, Steve Simms
