of Greenbrier, AR
November 6, 1943 - March 24, 2018
Edgar W. Bradberry, also known to friends and family as Brad, died unexpectedly at his home in Greenbrier, Arkansas on March 24, 2018 at the age of 74.
Ed was born on November 6, 1943 in DeWitt, Arkansas. After high school he joined the United States Air Force and was stationed in Japan. Upon returning home he graduated from the State College of Arkansas with a focus on Education. He continued his education to become a school administrator. He had a long career and focused his work on rural schools in North Central Arkansas. Upon retiring he continued his work serving the Lax K'laams Band in British Columbia.
Growing up in DeWitt, AR he learned to survey rice levees with his family. He took the work ethic learned from this experience and applied it to whatever he attempted to achieve. As a life-long educator and avid learner his desire to teach never diminished and was continued anew with his grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Oather Green Bradberry and Celestia Henrietta Smith Bradberry, and his brother, Oather Junior Bradberry all of DeWiitt. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Sandra Roberts Bradberry; his twin sister, Edna Louise Partain (Marion) of Carlisle, AR; sister-in-law, Tabitha Bradberry; his children Dawna Rock (Bob) of Alpharetta, GA, Ashley Lawrence (John) of Fayetteville, AR, and Darcy Cross (Cory) of Greenbrier, AR; his grandchildren, Will Rock, Madison Lawrence, Ila Lawrence and Henry Cross; along with several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations to the Arkansas Children's Hospital or Bethlehem Baptist Church.
Visitation will be from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Greenbrier. Funeral service will begin at 10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment will follow at Springhill Cemetery in Greenbrier, AR.

My heart was saddened when I heard of Mr. Bradberry passing. At times like this it is hard to find the perfect words of comfort. Your all in my thoughts and prayers.
Mrs. Bradberry, Ashley & Darcy,
I was very sorry to hear of Mr. Bradberry’s passing. He was Superintendent at Concord for all four of my high school years. He was always very kind to me and on occasion fatherly. He had a common sense approach to things that I admire and appreciate. From offering to stand in for a parent on Senior night to showing up in the gym parking lot because I ran out of gas, he went a step above what most Superintendents would have. I regret, not writing to him as an adult to let him know what his simple acts of kindness meant to me. I should have taken the opportunity a few years ago when my family and I bumped into both Mr. and Mrs. Bradberry in, of all places, Disney World. My prayers are with you all. - Crystal Evans
Sending Deepest Sympathy ,So sorry to hear of his passing. Also remembering his time spent in our community of LaxKwAlaams ( Port Simpson)..He made a huge impact on the education of our children..Our Children called him " Mr. Ed".
So sorry Sandra, I can never select the correct words at a time like this. You are in my prayers and thoughts.
Always thought he was and excellant administrator. Was even a better man. My prayers are with the family at this very trying time
Sandra and family,
I was so shocked and sad to hear the news of Mr. Bradberry's passing. I used to see him occasionally around Conway and enjoyed so much visiting with him. I remember that one of the times I saw him was in Walmart. One of my co-workers at Conway happened to be in the store also. Mr. Bradberry started telling us stories about when he was at Shirley, and he had us laughing so hard we hurt.
I love all those memories of our time with him as superintendent, and I am so proud that our class got to be his first group of seniors. He, you and all the teachers who came that year with him (Mr. Ramsey and Mr. & Mrs. Bane) made such an impact upon us. He was a strong leader and a great man whom we will never forget. We grieve with you but find comfort in knowing that he is in the presence of the Lord. Praying God will greatly comfort you as I know how much you loved him and will miss him. May you sense God's loving presence in a very special way during this time.
Love,
Darlene Harper Sowers

So sorry to hear of Mr. Bradberry passing. He had a wonderful impact on many peoples lives. What a living legacy he has left behind in all of us that knew him. I can hear his laugh and see his big ole smile he was frying fish at Choctaw. My sincere condolences to the Family.

So sorry for a loss of a great man. i had the privilege of serving on the Leslie school board for him for a short time. it was a honor and a privilege .we will be praying for all the family and friends in this time of need..thanks for all ed did for Leslie school system.May God bless you all..
Sandra and Family,
My deepest sympathy for your heartbreaking loss, he was a great man.
I still remember when as Superintendent at Shirley, he would do whatever was necessary to get the job done. It wasn't about his title or position it was about helping others. I will never forget when we would see him out helping the maintenance workers dig up a broken water line or helping to repair something that was broken. Mr. Bradberry was a true "Servant Leader" to those who worked with him and a great example for those of us in school during his time as Superintendent.
Ashley, I think it was you who broke all of his cigarettes in half while he was napping one weekend. Your Mom told us the story of how he sat you on his desk and was explaining to you that what you had done was wrong. My memory is that your Mom thought what you had done was pretty funny and you were not too phased by the lecture you received.
Treasure your many wonderful memories and keep them close in your heart.
Deepest sympathy,
Becky Bradford Guthrie

I pray for comfort for the family.

Ash, sorry to hear the news about your dad. And my goodness, you have his eyes! It is hard to lose a parent, or anyone close to you really, but know he will always be with you and will still be a part of your life, even from heaven...especially from heaven. Now he doesn't have to miss out on anything, since he lived somewhat far away, like my dad did. He can see you and the family all the time now...bittersweet. Love ya--Michelle
