I first met Ma through Doyan. She was one of the sweetest ladies I have ever met. Never wanting anything for her self. She loved her family, and loved cooking for them, and having them for lunch on Sundays. Ma always sent me home with cookies-sending some home for my daughter. I would usually eat them on the way home though! I went to see her twice while she was in the Nursing Home. I went with Doyan to see her in late January. She was all smiles, but she did not remember me. Ma will always have a special place in my heart. I know her family misses her. God is smiling now, because she is home with HIM. May God bless each Doyan, Linda, Royce, and Ricky, and all their families. I will keep you in my prayers. Brenda and Mykayla.

So sorry for the loss of your mother. My name is Adell, daughter of Lee (Cotton) & Mary Rickett. We lived across the road back in the early 70's. My Aunt & Uncle Dalton McGinty are living there now. As a kid I would go over to your Mom & Dad's house (the old one) and visit with Mrs. Matthews. I really cared about her even as a 7 yr old kid. I liked her a lot as I did Ms. Jenkings who lived next door. I will pray for your family as you go through this tough period in your life.

Ms. Matthew's was my very favorite "lunchroom lady"! She always had a smile on her face and kind words to share. She was a precious person. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you in this time of great sorrow. May the Lord give you all stregnth. Take comfort in knowing she is now looking upon the face of Jesus. Terry (Holt) Ruple
