Corinne Sibley Rhodes of Jonesboro, formerly of Osceola, died Saturday, March 17, 2007. She was born November 24, 1912 in Dardenelle, AR. After attending Little Rock schools and Galloway Women's College, she graduated from AR. State Teachers College, now UCA. Mrs. Rhodes taught school for many years where she met and married Joe W. Rhodes Jr. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, past president of Osceola Jr. Auxiliary, and Regent of Ruben Massey DAR chapter. She was preceded in death by her husband of sixty years, Joe W. Rhodes Jr.; her parents Rife W. Sibley and Violet Love Sibley; grandson Joseph Rhodes O'Neal; two brothers: Rife Sibley and David Sibley; and sister Martha Buchanan. Survivors include three daughters: Anne Bowen and husband Dan of Jackson, MS., Jean McCain and husband Doyle of Jonesboro, and Mary Williford and husband Stewart of Hattiesburg, MS., eleven grandchildren: Dan Bowen Jr. and wife Lucy of Chapin, SC., Pam Cox and husband Sam of Ridgeland, MS., Joe Parker Bowen and wife Jan of Franklin, TN., Connie Cook and husband Danny of Jonesboro, Dr. Trey O'Neal and wife Laura of Salt Lake City, UT, and Trevor O'Neal of Portland, OR; and a sister Violet Isaacks of Fort Smith; and thirteen great grandchildren: Ashley Bowen Murphy and husband Kyle, Austin Bowen, Lanna and Corinne Cox, Carly, Mallory, and Parker Bowen, Bryce Cook and wife Sara Beth, Grant Cook, Jack and Emma O'Neal. Visitation will be from 12:30 to 1:00 P.M. followed by the services in the chapel at Roller-Swift Funeral Home in Osceola on Monday, March 19, 2007. Family request that memorials be sent to First United Methodist Church in Osceola.
My thoughts and Prayers are with at this time of your loss. So, sorry for your loss, as she was a GREAT person, and gave so much to every one who met her. She will be missed by all.
