Guy Dwayne Pruitt, 42, of Desha passed away Sunday, June 27, 2004 at his home.

Born November 19, 1961 in Chicago, Illinois, he was the son of Donald Pruitt and Beth (Young) Pruitt.

He was a mechanic and of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by his wife, Debra Pruitt of the home; mother, Beth (Young) Gibson of Burlington, North Carolina; stepfather, Carl Gibson of Burlington, North Carolina; two sons, Joseph Kyle Melton Pruitt and Michael Melton of the home; one daughter, Candace Pruitt of the home; two brothers, Eric Pruitt of California and Don Butch Pruitt of Independence, Missouri; one sister, Terry Pruitt of Mountain Home, Arkansas; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Pruitt and a sister, Tina Pruitt.

Funeral services are private.

Uncle Guy i havent seen you in forever , im sorry we couldnt be closer. But ill love you always and will miss you too. I carry on with me memories of our beach trip and more. I miss you Uncle Guy. I was Guy's sister Terry. I have a treasure chest of memories that no one can take away in my heart of you Guy-Guy and so does the rest of the family that will always love you. May God's blessing and protection be with you always. Memorials were done by your side of the family for you brother. I was Guy's nephew....his sister Terry's son. It's such a shock to hear about this, I don't really quite know what to say other than....me a Uncle Guy were the best of friends when I was a little boy, I looked up to him like no other. He really will be missed and even though I hadn't seen him in a few years, I loved him just the same. RIP Uncle Guy...........
