Edith "Edie" Snowden Dewey, 82, managing partner of Horseshoe Plantation, died Thursday, April 27, 2005 at her home. The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, April 30 at the home of Happy Snowden Jones, 550 S. Belvedere in Memphis. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, May 1st at St. Mary's of the Lake Catholic Church. She was an Episcopalian, a member of the Memphis Garden Club, Town & Country Garden Club, a volunteer for MIFA and Grace House and 1984 Volunteer of the Year for Memphis Crisis Center. She leaves two daughters, Barbara B. McKee of Horseshoe Lake and Margaret D. Throckmorton of Charlotte, NC; a son, Charles C. Dewey Jr. of Memphis; a sister, Happy Snowden Jones of Memphis, seven grandchildren and a great-grandaughter. She was preceded in death by a son, Joseph Lee Baker Jr., and a sister, Sally McKay. The family requests that memorials be sent to MIFA, the Church Health Center or a charity of the donor's choice.

Ms. Edie will be greatly missed, she was a very helpful and knowledgable person. The Dept.'s thoughts go out to the family.
