Jo (Jodie) Earle Jernigan Cheek, 77, of Barton, Arkansas passed away Wednesday, August 5, 2020 at Helena Regional Hospital in Helena, Arkansas. Jodie was born to Robert Earl Jernigan and Josephine Womack Jernigan Tuesday December 28, 1942 in Blue Mountain, Mississippi.

She was married to Jay Check of Barton for twenty five years. Jodie worked and retired from Hoffinger "Doughboy" Industries.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Dot Parker; one brother, Bobby Jernigan; and one grandchild,Presley Phipps.

She is survived by one son, Todd Phipps; one step daughter, Meredith Miller; one step son, Mike Cheek; grandchildren: Dallas Taylor, Katelyn Bolden, Alek Fortner, Garrett Fore, Zoe Fore, Blake Cheek, Nicole Forester and Micah Cheek; ten great-grandchildren; nephew and his wife, Ivan and Dana Crabtree.
