Sara Fern Griffin

of Little Rock, AR

February 16, 1926 - July 21, 2020

Sara Fern Griffin, 94, went to be with the Lord July 21, 2020. She was born in Little Rock, Arkansas on February 16, 1926 to Woodford and Virginia Keith.

Sara loved the mountains, she lived there until her health declined. She had a green thumb and grew many beautiful gardens. Sara was an outgoing woman with a strong will, she always did what she wanted and never said ''I can't''. She worked as a police officer and race car driver, things most women shied away from in her day.

Sara was preceded in death by her parents and four children; Baby Leonard Flora Jones, Freddie Jones, Dixie Kogut and Thomas Kaufman, Sr.

She is survived by her loving children; Virginia and David Hicks and Jerry Morris, grandchildren; Lisa, Breezy, Thomas, Jimmy, Ginny, Heather, Ginger, and a multitude of great grandchildren.

Private services will be held at a later date due to Covid 19.

My dearest Virginia, I am so very sorry for your loss... Your mom was very special to me and was a joy to my day on the occasion I was able to visit with her. After reading her story, I see now why we "clicked" so quickly from the very first time I met her... we had so much in common. I will forever keep her memory close to my heart. Much love to you and hugs sweet "sister".

My family is consistently on my mind through these difficult times. I worry about their happiness, comfort, and safety. I share many memories with fond relatives, nanaw included. She will still take part in these moments in creating more memories, as the sun on our face and the wind to our backs.

Nanaw as we knew her was very loving and special to us. She was there when you were in need, never a harsh word and always had a smile on her face when you walked in a room. She was a beautiful woman who showed unconditional love for everyone who came to know her.

You will be forever missed, rest in peace nanaw, we love you!
