of Maumelle, AR

January 6, 1931 - July 8, 2020

Jane Davie, age 89 of Maumelle, Arkansas, passed away on Wednesday, July 8, 2020. She was born on January 6, 1931 to her late parents, Robert and Jean McPherson Turnbull of Coatbridge, Scotland. Jane grew up in Scotland and completed college and worked as a corporate secretary. One of her favorite memories was going to the farmer's dances where she met John, the love of her life. They then married and came to the United States in 1954.

Jane was a beautiful, thoughtful, loving mother as well as a supportive wife. She helped build and operate their family business for over four decades. Jane thoroughly enjoyed taking cruises, shopping, bird watching and flowers. Jane was a member of the MacArthur Garden Club for over 29 years, hosting many of their memorable Christmas parties and making lifelong friends. She was a long time member of Westover Hills Presbyterian Church and a life member of the Little Rock Council of Garden Clubs.

She is survived by two sons, John Robert (Vicki) of Little Rock and Alexander Scott (Melanie) of Hot Springs; two daughters, Jan Margaret Davie of Maumelle and Kimberly Davie Spencer (Charles) of Dallas; six grandchildren; John Andrew Davie, Adrianne Elizabeth Davie, Catherine Alexa Davie, Camille Lynne Davie, Gavin Gregory Spencer, and Samantha Nicole Spencer and three great-grandchildren, Harper Nadine Davie, John Andrew Davie, Jr., Austin Fischer Smith and Piper, her very special poodle.

She was preceded in death by her husband John Davie, parents and three brothers and one sister; William Turnbull, Robert Turnbull, Archibald Turnbull and Sarah Turnbull Sneddon.

In lieu of flowers, please make memorials to the charity you are passionate about in memory of Jane Turnbull Davie.

A graveside service will be at 10:30am on Monday, July 13, 2020, at Riverwood Memorial Park in Maumelle with the Reverend Kris Crawford officiating.

We have such special memories of a loving auntie who cared greatly for her own family and her extended family. Along with Uncle John she went out of her way to make our trips Stateside wonderfully memorable. Trips to Scotland also saw Aunt Jean and Uncle John visit us in Lairg, Inverness and Skye and these memories of a special lady will be treasured forever. Sincerest sympathies to Johnie, Scott, Jan and Kim and families.

I am so sorry to hear of Jane’s passing. I have many fond memories of the time we worked together in the library at Fuller Junior High in the early 1970s. I was just married and just out of college, she was like a second mother to me, so very patient with the green kid I was. She was a very special lady.
Prayers for comfort, strength, and precious memories.

Bea, Jim and all of the other Malcolms extend our heartfelt love and prayers to the Davies at this sad time relating to the loss of a great woman and long-term family friend. Jean and John were family to Dusty and Sue and the Malcolm boys as well as dozens of the early St. Andrews Presbyterian congregation. They are both fondly remembered.
