Boykin ''Bill'' Boyce, Jr, 93, of Earle, AR, passed away on July 3, 2020. He was born in Memphis, TN, on November 9, 1926, to Boykin and Lady Francis Boyce.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his loving wife Dorothy ''Billie'' Boyce.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his sons, William Mark Boyce and Charles ''Chuck'' Boyce; his daughter Lisa Boyce Lawless (Raymond); his four grandchildren Allison Cheney (Tom), William ''Bubba'' Tyler Boyce (Bobbie), and Kelly & Katie Lawless; and his three great grandchildren, Aiden Boyce, Millie Cheney, and Avery Marie Boyce.
Bill was also affectionately known as ''Boogie,'' ''BB,'' and ''Rooster.'' He attended the University of Mississippi and played football as tight-end and offensive guard. He was a faithful member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Crawfordsville, AR, and was involved in numerous civic organizations, including the Jaycees, Boy Scouts of America, Rotary Club, and Knights of Columbus.
He was also was a volunteer fire fighter with the Earle Fire Department, and a High School Football Referee. Bill was in the US Army and honorably served his country in both World War II and the Korean War, where he was in the military police, and also earned the title as the Middleweight Division Boxing Champion.
When Bill found the time, he enjoyed fishing, gardening, and especially watching football. He was truly a good father, son, and brother. Bill was a good listener, and often gave good advice. He was a true gentleman, a family man, and was a hard worker, and was known to help others when in need.
A graveside service will be held at Crittenden Memorial Park Pavilion, 2206 US-64, Marion, AR, on Thursday, July 9, 2020 at 10:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests for memorial donations to be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at stjude.org/donate.
