Roger Wayne Poor

of Letona, AR

July 23, 1955 - June 18, 2020

Roger Wayne Poor 64, went to be with his Heavenly father on June 18, 2020, at his home in Letona, Arkansas surrounded by his loving family. He was born to Roger Sherman and Mary Katherine Hopper Poor in Houston, Texas on July 23, 1955.

Wayne was placed here for a special purpose and he accomplished that well in all that he did. He wanted to love those who were members of his family and anyone he met. He took any task that was given to him very seriously and the one he looked forward to the most was to walk to the Post Office and pick up the mail for his family. He continued to do that until just the past few weeks when he became physically unable to so. He loved to write his letters and numbers and spent much time doing that felt very pleased when he finished.

He was an avid Star Track fan and often referred to himself as Captain Kirk. He found joy in watching TV especially The Wheel of Fortune and The Price is Right. His greatest love was eating and he was never going to be late for a meal. His favorite meals were hamburgers and catfish and he could never get enough.

The thing that Wayne loved to do the most of all was to spend time with his family. He enjoyed visiting with each of them and spent much time looking at family photos especially the one that he was in. He learned how to take pictures but he loved being in them better than taking them so he could be the center of attention.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Jimmy Poor.

Left to cherish his memory are his three sisters, Cynthia ''Cindy'' (Clifford ''Joe'') Brockus of Letona, AR, Deborah ''Debbie'' (Ricky) Helton of Crosby, TX and Sheila (Dean) Moreland of Centerville, MO; one sister-in-law, Iris Poor of Letona, AR and two aunts, Betty Middleton of Gilliam, LA and Myrna Hopper of Minot, ND along with numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews along with a host of other family and friends.

The family is planning a Memorial Service for Wayne and that information will be announced by the family.
