of Bergman, AR
May 30, 1957 - June 5, 2020
Janet S. Canady, age 63, of Harrison, went home to be with her beloved Savior on Friday, June 5, 2020, at home. She was born May 30, 1957, in Harrison, to Gene and Loretta (Youngblood) Jones.
Janet was a proud lifelong resident of the beautiful Ozark Mountains. She grew up and attended school in the Compton and Harrison area. Her most favorite memories were spending time with her precious grandparents, Earnest Bryant and Ollie Neighbors.
She was preceded in death by her mother, an infant son, her Grandpa Earnest, and Grandma Ollie.
Janet met the love of her life, Jerry Allen Canady, and they were wed on August 25, 1973. Janet and Jerry were very active in the youth sports community including baseball, soccer, taekwondo, and football. She enjoyed traveling, cheering on the kids, and making many lifelong friends along the way. She was called Mom by many. Janet had always been proud to raise her sons in the Ozarks and in Ozark Baptist Church where they were grounded in the traditional family values and the Word of God. She said one of her greatest accomplishments was raising her sons who served in the military and most of all served the Lord.
Her heart was devoted to worshiping with her church family and her ministry and was loving and encouraging others. She served in every way possible at the church and was known for her wonderful cooking. She never missed an opportunity to stand up and praise the Lord. For over 30 years, she loved teaching children the word of God and leading them to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.
Janet was a talented artisan with flowers as she enjoyed floral design for many years at Caspian Flower Shop. She also became a cake designer and brought so much joy to special occasions for so many. All that knew her loved her!
You never saw her without a smile and she was like family to everyone she knew. If she were here today, she would say ' Please don't cry but rejoice and please come to Jesus and come see me again in Heaven.'
Survivors include her husband, Jerry Canady, of the home; her father, Gene and Tammy Jones; three sons and daughters-in-law, Allen and Candyce Canady of Harrison, Jason and Sabrina Canady of Bergman, and Seth and Chelsea Canady of Jonesboro; nine grandchildren: Alexis, Aubrey, Sadie, Kenah, Ethan, JoHannah, Malorie, Gene, and Jessie; her brothers, Dwayne Bryant, Mitchell Gahlbeck, and Nick Gahlbeck; and a host of nieces, nephews and other family members and friends.

I met Janet briefly during the Summer of 2019. She was recommended highly for doing Cakes. She did all our cakes for our 50th Wedding Anniversary at the Senior Center on Rock Springs Road in August of that year. I came to love her and her winning personality during our acquaintance at that point. When I found out that she was dealing with a very challenging and difficult time ahead I kept her constantly in my prayers. She will definitely be missed!!

I so enjoyed working with Janet at Mass Merchandisers/ Millbrook for many years as well as visiting with her at Caspian Flowers. She was always so nice and never met a stranger. My brother who called on Caspian on his flower route always though a lot of her as well and said the girls at a Caspian were the nicest ones on his entire route. I feel sure she is arranging flowers for God and greeting everyone she sees!! She always told me how proud she was of her kids and grandkids!!

So saddened at the loss of Janet. There was never a time where our family either celebrated something or grieved where we didn’t find Joy and Love from her heart! Her love for the Lord is Glorious and I know she is Rejoicing! Many prayers for the entire family!
Jerry and the boys my heart is broken. I had no idea that Janet had been sick. Since I live away from Harrison it’s hard to keep up with everyone’s health. Lots of good memories of Janet since my mom worked with her at Mass Merchandise. She had a heart of gold and I just loved her sweet spirit. I used to drop by the flower shop several years ago to see her and the smile on her face when I seen her was priceless. We might of not seen each other very often but I truly call Janet a genuine friend. When u become friends with her it was for life. I know she doesn’t want us to be sad but it’s hard not to be . She has gained her wings in Heaven now , no more pain or sorrow. Just know I’m praying God gives u guys peace and comfort during this difficult time. Know one think that is great some day we will be able to join a Janet and walk the streets of gold and that will be a awesome day. God wrap ur arms around Jerry, the boys and all 9 of her grandchildren and comfort them knowing that someday they will see there wife, mom, or grandma up in heaven. I sure did loved u a lot Janet until we meet again , you keep that Freddie (my dad) in line up there. Lots of Luv and God bless Melissa
Sorry for your loss sending you all our prayers ðŸ™
