Thomas William Nation, 86, of Lamar, Arkansas, passed away on May 26, 2020. He was born August 22, 1933, in Lamar, Arkansas, to the late Norman and Willie Opal (Hughes) Nation. Mr. Nation served our Great Nation in the United States National Guard then reenlisted in the United States Marine Corps as a Sergeant during the Korean War. Thomas was a 32nd degree Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, member of the Petroleum Lodge 474, and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Thomas enjoyed spending time with his friends and loved time with his family.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister Doris Nation Kettelhut.

Thomas is survived by his two children: David (Heather Potter) Nation of Claremore, OK. And Glen (Vonne) Nation of Bixby, OK; five grandchildren: David Blake Nation, Kaden Zayne Nation, Shelby (Spencer Love) Potter, Cleo Gorbet, and Thomas Gorbet; three great grandchildren: Graceling Potter, Olyvian Love, and Shylon Love; and a host of other family and friends.

Visitation will be 4:00 - 6:00 P.M. Thursday, May 28, 2020 at the Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral service will be at 2:00 P.M on Friday, May 29, 2020, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Bob Powers officiating. Burial will be in Lamar Cemetery in Lamar Arkansas. Glen Nation, David Nation, David Blake Nation, Kaden Nation will be serving as pallbearers.

We are complying with the Arkansas Department of Health guidelines and limiting indoor funerals and visitations to 50 people at a time. All attendees must provide and wear their own masks before entering.

My brother Doyle Yates and I are blessed to have had Tom in our lives, He was a great brother in law as well as a friend. He will be missed.
