I served in the Navy.
Robert "Bob" Wayne Sebourn

of Little Rock, AR

June 28, 1945 - April 13, 2020

Robert (Bob) Wayne Sebourn, 74, of Little Rock passed away April 13, 2020. He was born June 28, 1945 in Ft. Smith, Arkansas.

Bob, a veteran of the US Navy, was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Alberta Sebourn and his brother, Jim. He is survived by his wife, Karen; daughter, Anna; granddaughter, Gemma Engle; sister, Phyllis Marrs, and countless friends and family.

Bob was a "people person" with a servant's heart and enjoyed his work as a counselor and training manager for the Dept. of Human Services. He was especially proud of the young adults he mentored as a youth minister at Western Hills United Methodist Church.

He participated in, and taught Judo and Aikido at UALR for 25 years and achieved the rank of 4th degree black belt (Yodan). Even after retirement, he used his skills to teach workshops and to co-teach a women's self-defense class.

When Bob wasn't fixing things or cooking meals for the Manna Meals at Henderson United Methodist Church, he could be found pursuing one of his hobbies. He loved golfing with his special buddies, softball, and fishing. He spent time at home puttering in his shop building birdhouses and creating unique Christmas ornaments for his family each year. He was also a member of the Civil War Roundtable of Arkansas, the American Legion, and the United States Judo Federation.

A celebration of his life will be held at a later date. The graveside service will be held at Forest Hills Memorial Park at 2:00, April 17, 2020. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Henderson UMC Manna Meals, 13000 W. Baseline Rd., Little Rock, Arkansas, 72210.

Dear Karen, Anna, Gemma and Phyllis,
There are no words to tell you how sorry I am to have just learned of Robert's passing. Such a shock and such sad news.
I have so many great memories of our growing up together in the '60's. Robert was so much more than just my cousin - he was the big brother I never had.
Please know that all of you are in our hearts and prayers.

Our hearts are heavy with sadness and we pray that our Father in Heaven surrounds you with all the comfort and peace you need. Bob was a joy and knowing him was a blessing. Heaven gained a great guy...I"m sure he's probably fixing something already.

Karen,
You are in our thoughts and Prayers. We are thankful for our Sunday School class and the time we spent with Bob . We will miss his smile from across the table and the lessons he taught. Also the greeting he gave us on Sunday morning when he was making coffee and we came into the kitchen. Always a smile on his face. We will miss him but he will always be in our hearts

Bob and I were fraternity brothers at UCA in the early '70's. GREAT GUY. A real leader who we all respected and looked up to. Always ready to help anyone in any way he could for any reason. Kind. Thoughtful. Respectful. He was always positive, happy, caring, likable. We shared many fun times together during our college years and we stayed connected throughout our lives. A friend who I will miss dearly.

I had the good fortune of attending church & Sunday school with Bob & Karen in the past and enjoying the friendship of a wonderful family through the years. Bob and I played poor golf and tennis together when we could. He was one of those people that you might not have seen in awhile, but when you did it was like you had just seen each other the day before. What a wonderful life he led!

Karen and Anna,
There are no words to express my deepest sympathy at this time. I am still reeling in shock but I know that it is no less shocking for you either. I have wonderful memories of Bob from the time he worked with us with the ESOL Department. He kept us on the straight and narrow if anything did not look correct. He had that eye and attention for detail. Bob was also a Sunday school member and friend. He will be missed more than I can express. His spirit lives on through you and Gemma. Such a loss of a wonderful, kind, gentle person. Praying for you and with you at this time.
