Mamie Sue Spencer was born on August 11, 1934 to Richard and Louise Walley in Lepanto, Arkansas. She went home to be with the Lord on March 31, 2020 while surrounded by her loving family at her home in West Memphis, Arkansas.
Known to many as Sue, she married L.E. Spencer on March 22, 1955. She was preceded in death by her husband, L.E. Spencer.
Those left to cherish her memory are her sisters, Helen Bryant, Glenda Blahut (Chuck), Alfreda Paxton (Benny), Debbie Martin (John), and Gale Markley (Jim); her brother, Danny Payne (Cristy); 5 children, Jan Spencer Scrape (Gary) of Proctor, Arkansas, L.E. Spencer Jr. of Drasco, Arkansas, David W. Spencer (Kim) of Marion, Arkansas, Jeffrey L. Spencer (Susan) of Madison, Alabama and Robert N. Spencer (Stephanie) of West Memphis, Arkansas.
She has 13 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.
She was a homemaker before graduating from Crawley Ridge Nursing Academy in 1972. She then worked as a LPN for 36 years at Crittenden Memorial Hospital before retiring. She was also proud to be an active member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Mayflower Society and The Cypress Avenue Baptist Church. Some of her hobbies included gardening, listening to music of different Genres, reading and working puzzles.
Sue will be laid to rest in Crittenden Memorial Park in Marion, Arkansas.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Cypress Avenue Baptist Church in Marion, Arkansas
She will be missed by us all including her faithful companion and pet, her dog, Moochie.

I have so many fond memories of her and her family. Having grown up on Highland Street across from the Spencer's, I never think of my childhood without thinking of them. So sorry for the lost of a fine woman, wife, mom, grandmother and friend.
