Leslie ''Les'' Nichols

On Friday, March 27, 2020 at 3:29 pm, the world was changed. Jesus Christ, whom Les had recently confessed as his personal Lord and Savior, whispered his name one final time calling him home.

Leslie C. Nichols Jr. was born November 27, 1944 in Wilson, Arkansas to the late Leslie C. Nichols, Sr. And Serena A. Nichols.

With a great passion and skill set, Les became a master paint and body technician throughout his life. He serves and displayed his talent in several shops in the Memphis and surrounding areas, where he selflessly shared his knowledge enabling others with like-minded desires to succeed in their careers as well.

Along with painting cars, Les had a love for racing and dune buggies.

Following his own racing career throughout South Florida, he was an avid NASCAR fan, particularly his personal friend Ricky Stenthouse, Jr. Many stories were spoke of and shared during those quality times!

Many friends in those spectrums of his life have already given their condolences of the, ''SRONG MAN'' they all knew as ''ROADHAWG''.

Far and above being called a ''great friend'' by so many people, Les was proud to be known as a loving and dedicated family man.

He deeply cherished all of his family, from the beloved daughter who called him, ''Dad'', to his little pride and joys that always smiled and said, ''I love you Papa!!''

Along with his parents, Les was preceded in death by three sisters, Frances Null, Jennie Gosa, and Janice Griffith.

He is survived and will be dearly missed bu his large family, including his daughter, Jodi Vargo and her husband, Bill Vargo of Port Saint Lucie, Florida; ''Baby Sister'' Diane Dunn and husband, Michael of Eden, North Carolina; brother Benny Nichols also of Eden, North Carolina; and grandson, Jeremy Watson of West Palm Beach, Florida.

Also missing Les' ''Big Heart'' and ''Contagious Smile'' will be his long time girlfriend, Sandra Ballard, with ''special'' granddaughters, Abigail, Aubrie, and Autumn.

''Uncle Ga'' also leaves behind many, many, many special nieces and nephews.

A private service for the family is being directed by Roller-Citizens funeral home of West Memphis, Arkansas and will be laid to rest in Crittenden Memorial Park in Marion, Arkansas.

An open celebration of Les' life and legacy will be scheduled at a later date.

My heart breaks for each of you. Uncle Ga as I have called him my whole life was a very special man. He had such an Infectious laugh. He was such a great friend to so many. I'm so glad I got to see him a few months ago. Heaven gained a special angel when the father called him home. I can imagine all the laughter at the family table with his sisters and parents. We will see him again when we are called home.
