David Lee Mason, age 78, of Yellville, Arkansas passed away Monday March 30, 2020 in Mountain Home, Arkansas.
David was born September 3, 1941 in Glidden, Iowa to the late Earnest Leroy and Gladys Juanita (Cole) Sapp. He had lived in the area for the past 17 years, coming here from Long Beach, Washington. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He was a retired United States Army veteran having served in Vietnam, Desert Storm, and Desert Shield. Most recently he was a bus driver for the Yellville-Summit School District. Most importantly he loved his family. David was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.
Mr. Mason is survived by his wife Debbra Mason of the home; one son Shawn Sapp of Boise, Idaho; one step-son Thomas McIlhargey of Burly, Idaho; two daughters: Heather Dawn Brooks of Yellville, Arkansas; Wendy Sapp of Boise, Idaho; two step-daughters: Jamie Hadley, and Heather Jean Hettinga, both of Yuma, Arizona; two brothers: Royal Dean Mason of Maryland; Don Mason of Iowa; three sisters: Phyllis Cade of St. Helen, Oregon; Linda Smith and Sharon Sapp, both of Hoquiam, Washington; fourteen grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Dennis Sapp, and a grandchild Brenda Lee Gardner.
A Memorial service will be held by the family at a later date.
Arrangements are by Roller-Burns Funeral Home in Yellville, Arkansas.
Our family thanks everyone for your kind words and memories. We all love David and will miss him always. I have wonderful memories of him, too many to share here. He was always there for me as my big brother. A good friend. I love him and miss him.
He was a great person. Loved his family. Helped with so many. He will be missed. May his family have peace.

I was so sad to hear about David. He was a wonderful person, always caring about and for others. He was a great grandfather and did so much to help his grandkids. He will be missed. I’m so sorry for your loss, Debra.
