of LITTLE ROCK, AR
April 10, 1937 - March 27, 2020
Carl W. Harris, 82, of Little Rock, died on March 27, 2020. He was born on April 10, 1937, at St Louis, Missouri to Carl D and Connie Billingsley Harris. Carl married Mary Sue Cole on July 3, 1959. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary last year. Carl and Mary attended Harmony Baptist Church. Carl began his career as a steelworker before founding his own general contracting business in 1971. He loved to hunt, fish and travel. We have wonderful memories of his hobbies and the joy they brought to his life.
He is survived by his wife Mary, his son Tony (Connie) Harris, his daughter Tammy (Paul) Dillon, his grandchildren Josh (Sherry), Daniel, Bailey (Josh) and Emily (Billy) and five great-grandchildren. He leaves to celebrate his life as a host of relatives and many friends. Carl was preceded in death by his parents, all his siblings and his father and mother in law R.L. and Inez Cole.
We are appreciative of the care Carl received at The Village at Ranch West.
There will be no public visitation or service at this time. In the future, we will host a celebration of Carl's life.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Harmony Baptist Church Building Fund, 3195 Highway 10 East, Perryville 72126.
Carl and I were good friends in jr high. We spent a lot of time hanging out together, especially summer days in the nearby Little Maumelle swimming hole folks called Gravel. Pit. I am sorry to read that he has left us.

I couldn't have asked for a better Father-in-law than Carl. I was blessed the day that I married into the Harris family. I always thought that it was very sweet of him when he would thank me for giving him his two grandsons. He always made me feel loved. Carl would do anything for his family or for anyone else in need as well. He was larger than life and had a personality to match. He fought the good fight, he finished the race and he kept the faith. He has now entered into his eternal home and is enjoying sitting at his Savior's feet basking in His presence...and of course, fishing in the River of Life. My love and prayers are with the love of his life for over 60 years, his children, grandchildren, family and friends. He will be greatly missed.
We are so sorry for your loss. Please know that we are praying for you all.
