Troy Franklin Swafford, 86, of Mountain View, Arkansas, went to be with the Lord on Friday, March 13, 2020, at White River Medical Center.
He was born August 19, 1933, in Ben, Arkansas, to Henry Clay and Laura Jane Swafford, and married his forever ''sweetie,'' Bobbie, on December 28, 1957.
Troy was a farmer and carpenter by trade and a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a Christian and a faithful member of Mountain Top Cowboy Church in Heber Springs. Some of his favorite activities included hunting, fishing, camping, and spending time with his family, but his most treasured moments were spent with the love of his life and best friend, his wife Bobbie.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Thadus Swafford, Roy Swafford, Ray Swafford, and Larkin Swafford; and three sisters, Bertha Thomas, Oneta Bufford, and Daisy Goins.
Survivors include his wife of over 62 years, Bobbie; one sister, Elsie Endsley and husband Russell of Heber Springs; one son, Kenny Swafford and wife Cindi of Mountain View; one daughter, Joyce Arnold and husband Byron of Heber Springs; two granddaughters, Bethany Kelley and husband Sean, and Kenndall Swafford; along with a great host of family and friends. Troy will be greatly missed. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother, and he will always be in our hearts.
Visitation for Troy is Monday, March 16, 2020, from 6:00-8:00 PM at Arbanna Baptist Church in Mountain View, Arkansas. Funeral services are Tuesday, March 17, 2020, 2:00 PM at Mountain Top Cowboy Church in Heber Springs, Arkansas, with Brothers Glen Swafford and Bob Shelton officiating. Interment will follow the service at Friendship Cemetery in Ben, Arkansas.
Pallbearers are David Stoltze, Shane Swafford, Wheeler Watters, Michael Goins, David Endsley, and J.L. Stone. Honorary pallbearers are Brian Stoltze, Dwayne Swafford, Roger Swafford, Henry Swafford, Randy Swaffford, and Junior Watters.
Roller Crouch Funeral Home in Mountain View, Arkansas, is in charge of the arrangements.
