I can remember back when our son was tiny going into Walmart and she would tell us “Get that baby home, he’s gonna get germs in here.” She would always have to peak under the blanket I had draped over his car seat and she would just smile. He is now 14 and she couldn’t believe how he had grown so tall the last time we seen her in Walmart. He would always have to give her a hug. Several years ago, it was late one night and she was getting off work and the roads were starting to get bad because of winter weather. My husband and I were in the store and we offered to take her home and she accepted. He drove her car & I followed. We waited until she got in and she waved out her front door and we knew she was safe. She always reminded us of how thankful she was for us doing that even years later. Walmart was definitely blessed with “Ms. Betty.” We will sure miss her sweet smile and her most precious greetings at Walmart- Parker Road. Prayers of Love & comfort to her family. ❤️ We Love you Ms. Betty!

Ms. Betty’s niece and I were best friends growing up and Ms. Betty and her mom, Mrs. Helen lived across the street from her. We would go visit when I was staying over, which was very often. After becoming an adult and having a family and doing the adult things, it always was a well spent trip back to my youth stepping into the door at Walmart and seeing her smiling face greeting me as it did so many times growing up! She will truly be missed!

I’m very sad to hear of Ms. Betty’s passing. I didn’t know her personally but she always made my day with her smile when I would walk into Walmart. She worked there as I was growing up and I always looked forward to going to Walmart because I knew I’d get to see her. You could tell she loved her job and loved interacting with people. She will be missed greatly and always remembered!

We loved Ms Betty. Ever since my son was itty bitty she would give him a sticker for both hands and he would just hug her and so would I. My son is 13 now and the last time we saw her was a few months back and we still hollered Ms Betty and we both gave her a hug. She will be dearly missed. We truly loved her. We are so sorry for such a great loss.

Mrs Betty was one of the sweetest and kindest women that I ever had the pleasure of meeting. I saw her at her place of work and she would come to see me at mine. She watched my kids grow up over the years and always made me smile. You will be missed.

Oh Miss Betty! During a Ridgefield Christian School homecoming one year, my son’s class had some kind of Walmart themed float with Walmart baskets and vests, etc. all donated by the Parker Road Walmart. I think they even considered having Miss Betty ride on the float! Due to risk of injury, they didn’t invite her but that’s how much people thought of her. Sweet lady!
