Jerry Walter White, 72, of Jonesboro, passed away Wednesday, February 26, 2020 at St. Bernards Medical Center. He was born May 15, 1947 in Marked Tree to Marion and Ruth Harkey White. Mr. White was a Master Electrician and a member of Fairview Baptist Church. He proudly served in 3 years in the U.S. Army, where he earned 3 Purple Heart and 3 Bronze Star medals. He loved gardening, drawing and painting. He also taught Sunday School and bible study groups.

Mr. White was preceded in death by his parents.

Mr. White leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife of 44 years, Shirley Foreman White; three sons, Scott (Cindy) Tate, Michael Christopher Tate and Jerry Walter White Jr.; grandson, Ryan Tate; and four sisters, Maxine Talley, Amy Bylsma, Carolyn Carroll and Mildred Carroll.

Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Monday at Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home, 1900 West Washington Avenue in Jonesboro with Bubba Reece officiating. Burial will follow at Marked Tree Cemetery at 2:30 pm.

Visitation will be 3-5 pm Sunday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will include Scott Tate, Michael Christopher Tate, Jerry Walter White Jr., and Ryan Tate.
