Earnest Alexander, 73, passed away on February 25, 2020 in Memphis, TN. He was born on February 19, 1947 in Blytheville, AR to Marvin and Mary Alexander.
Earnest was a jack of all trades. He loved to dance, spending time with his family, and the joy of his life, his daughter, Melissa. Earnest was a professional pool player and loved to shoot pool.
Earnest is survived by his better half, Denise Nicholson; his daughter, Melissa Moore, Michelle, Miranda, and Carrie; his three grandchildren; his three great-grandchildren; his brother, Charles Alexander (Faye); his three sisters, Evelyn Blaylock, Frances Harris ("Short Boy"), and Virginia Stephens; as well as a host of many other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by parents, Marvin and Mary Alexander; his daughter, Treva Alexander; and his three brothers, Carlos, Thomas, and Jimmy Alexander.

EARNEST you were definitely a fighter with a smile, even when your eyes showed the stress from pain. When I passed you in West Clinic and we both were doing radiation, your smile and words of encourangement helped myself to keep going. Times I could see the pain in your eyes but you never let on. He has suffered a lot with his cancer. He never acted like but I know he suffered with cause I had it.
He was a good man and will be missed. I used to go to church with Mellisa when she was a little girl ,and I went to church with his brother Charles.

My deepest condolences to the family. There is nothing that I say here that will make this any easier. Earnest came into my life in the 1960's and I can not think of a time that he wasn't just being Earnest. I wouldn't think we will see another like him. On the bright side, Earnest paved a way for us all to see him again through his faith in God. I pray that we all enjoy that reunion in its' time.
