Raymon Gene Mabry, surrounded by family took his final breath at the St. Bernards Hospice Center, Wednesday, February 26, 2020. Born to Eugene (Tooter) Mabry and Clella Johnston Mabry, June 30, 1930, he was 89. He was married to Nancy Frazier Mabry, of Jonesboro, for fifty years. Both Raymon and Nancy were members of the Emanuel Missionary Baptist Church.
Born and raised around the Greensboro area, he learned at a young age to work hard to earn a dollar. He referred to this as having grit! He was a hardworking man. From farming, factory, welding, and his favorite was sitting high in a gravel truck until his retirement.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Joyce Parnell; a son, Robert Mabry; daughter, Connie Childs; and a granddaughter, Brandy Barnes.
He leaves behind his wife, Nancy; daughters, Dianne Ford, of Jonesboro, and Suzanne Nelson, of Walnut Ridge; three granddaughters and two grandsons; three great granddaughters and seven great grandsons; and two half-brothers, Charles and Lee Mabry.
There will be no visitation. Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM, Friday, February 28, 2020, at Pine Log Cemetery with Brother Don Howard officiating.
Services are under direction of Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home.
