Earl Ramey Stiles, Sr., 86, of Marianna died February 16, 2020. He was born in Aubrey, Arkansas on December 21, 1933 to Earl Wayne Stiles and Clide Ramey Stiles. He was married on March 17, 1954 to the love of his life, Claudine Smith Stiles, on national television as guests on NBC's "The Bride and Groom Show" at Radio City Music Hall in New York City.
Earl was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Marianna for 49 years where he regularly attended and actively served for many years. He was a life-long cotton farmer, owned and operated Stiles and Manley Gin, Co. in Aubrey, AR, served on the Lee County Farm Bureau Board, the Marvell Academy School Board, and the USDA-ASCS County Committee.
His passion was always to help his family and he led by example with hard work, honesty, and integrity. He enjoyed the outdoors and will be fondly remembered as a great duck hunter and dedicated sportsman.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 56 years, Claudine; and two brothers, Clyde Wayne Stiles and Hugh (Humpy) Stiles. He is survived by two sisters June Wright Broadway (Marked Tree), Carolyn Stiles May (Owensboro, KY), sister-in-law, Mary Carolyn Jennings (Springdale), three children , Natalie Stiles Gunter (Walter) of Marion, Earl Ramey Stiles, Jr. (Kerry) of Marianna, and Hugh Scott Stiles (Christina) of Jonesboro; seven grandchildren, Mary Beth Gunter, Sarah Stiles Stegall (Payton), Rebecca Stiles Bagwell (David), Caroline Amelia Stiles, Joshua Ryan Stiles, Claire Elizabeth Stiles, and John Scott Stiles; and five great- grandchildren, Lilly Claudine and Parker Presley Stegall, Aubrey Claire, Timothy Ryan, and Ansley Grace Bagwell; nieces, nephews, and a host of close family friends.
The family wishes to express their love and appreciation to the nurses, CNAs, and staff of Crestpark Marianna and Patient's Choice Hospice for assistance in caring for their loved one.
Visitation will be Thursday, February 20th, from 5-7:30 p.m. at Marianna Roller Citizens Funeral home. The family will receive visitors at the Marianna First United Methodist Church at the fellowship hall beginning at 12:45 p.m. on Friday, February 21st, followed by a Celebration of Life service beginning at 2 p.m. Interment to follow at Marianna Memorial Park.
