Walter Fredrick Schaller, 89, of North Little Rock, passed away on December 30, 2019. He was born March 17, 1930 to the late Walter Fredrick and Sarah Francis Schaller.

Walter was happily married to his wife, Betty Schaller, for 74 years. He was a strong family man who loved his family. Walter enjoyed gardening and cooking. He was a handyman who loved a good project. Walter also loved to go deer hunting. He was a former elder of the Church of Christ.

He is preceded in death by his daughter, Rebecca Schaller; and sister, Jewell Milam.

Walter is survived by his wife, Betty Schaller; son, Walter Carey; daughter, Sherry Smith (Charles); grandchildren, Valerie Linker(Jeff) and Joshua Smith; and great-grandchildren, Daulton Linker, Sloan Linker, Cash Smith, Carter Smith and Bonham Smith.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, January 2, 2020 at Roller-Owens Funeral Home in North Little Rock, Arkansas with burial to follow at Rest Hills Memorial. A visitation will be held one hour prior to funeral services.

Walter was a mentor and friend that I had the privilege to work with for nearly 30 years. We both hailed from crittenden county and knew mutual friends from home. My condolences to Betty and children. I know you will miss him greatly.
