Oh, Ruthann and family, you have been in my thoughts, prayers and heart for lo, these many months. Please forgive me for taking so long to reach out to you.
We had the privilege of being your neighbor and then, later, my father had the privilege of being one of Don's patients. His kindness and compassion were without parallel. He would stop by my father's hospital room during his nightly rounds, sit by his bedside, and they would have an unhurried and most pleasant chat. Don even called him by his nickname...Doona. My father adored him and I think the feeling was mutual...
May God grant you the peace in which your precious Don now rests.

I was so priviledged to have such a thoughtful, kind & caring doctor as Dr. Meacham was to me. He treated me for around 30 years, my husband the last few years and before that my in-laws & grandfather in-law! We all loved him dearly and were so very thankful to have him as our Dr. I know he is greatly missed by all his family. Thank you for sharing him with us so that he could make such a great impact on so many people!

Our family is just now finding out about Dr. Meacham passing away. He was the doctor for both of our parents. We are heartbroken about his passing. He was not only a great doctor but even a greater person. Our parents, John and Mary Ware, were blessed to have such a person in their lives. Unfortunately, we lost both them this year. We are sure they are now waiting in line to see Dr. Meacham in heaven. God Bless Dr. Meacham and his family.

I and my husband are heartbroken to hear of Dr. Meacham’s death. We are reminded of his smile and compassion. But what we will never forget was his love for his Lord and Savior. Each visit was a time of thankfulness for God’s love and the gift of His Son. Dr. Meacham was a reflection of God’s love and though he will be greatly missed, I am thrilled that he has received his promotion to spend eternity with Jesus. To his family, our prayer is for your comfort and peace during this very difficult time.

Oh my... We just learned today of your passing. You will be sorely missed by my husband and I. You saved his life a few years ago at Baptist Hospital in the ICU. As his family we were truly grateful. And, of course, you immediately became his doctor. The doctor. Through the years we gained great respect and admiration for you. At the last visit you said," every year past 70 is a gift." Thanks to your tremendous skill my husband is approaching 78. We will think of you often. And search the clouds as you drive your Tesla around Heaven.

Doc Meacham was one of my customers. I was his barber and always felt lucky to have known such a brilliant man. He mainly just enjoyed his haircuts and relaxed but each time we spoke, he was always very kind, interesting to listen to and loved getting to be a grandpa foremost in the last few years. Dr. Meacham was my dad's doctor and after watching him work with dad, I asked that he become my Cardiac doctor. He made more progress with me than all the other doctors combined and his demeanor was amazing. He listened to me and helped my heart get stronger. I went in one day to brag about the 20 lbs I had lost and he had lost 60. I was so amazed about his knowledge, strength and determination and we joked together the whole time he worked on me. I looked up to him and loved seeing him. He cared deeply about people. I will miss him greatly. I am so sorry for your loss of this gentle and thoughtful man. So sad to hear this. This man has been my cardiologist forever! He was more than that however. Never was there a time when he was by for a post surgery visit to see how things were going or just sitting in the room at the Heart clinic, did he give the slightest Indication that he was in a hurry and he needed to get somewhere. You always sit and listen to every little thing you had to say answered every little question that you had to ask and always responded with kindness and sincerity. The medical world is a better place because of Donald F. Meacham. I will forever be grateful for his compassion, his kindness and his love for his patients.
I know I’m just worn person but I know I speak for a great number of people with heart issues... my quality-of-life drastically improve because of Donald Meacham and his care, his brilliance and his compassion for his patients. may you rest in peace sir

Dearest Ruthann and family,

Your beloved husband was such a kind, sincere physician with the most wonderful bedside manner, we considered him part of our family. He tended to our father, Ralph Rogers, while you served as one of Daddy's nurses. Dr. Meacham cared for my brother-in-law, RIchard Haynie, as well as our mother, Roena. Treating the second generation, he was my sister's cardiologist, Pam, and my personal doctor. Dr. Meacham was always a compassionate cardiologist who cared deeply and professionally for his patients. We all have tremendous respect for him, and for you, Ruthann. He left an amazing legacy and dearly loved his profession. We shall miss him as a physician and as a friend. Our thoughts and prayers cover you and your family. May God bless you all through this time of mourning; our hearts are also grieving.
