Marvin Loyed Demuth   I am a Veteran.
November 20, 1930  -  November 30, 2019

Marvin Loyed Demuth was called home to be with his Savior on November 30, 2019. He was born on November 20, 1930, in Memphis, Tennessee to Orville Michael and Verdie Cruse Demuth.
Marvin attended the University of Arkansas where he met and married the love of his life, Donna Hudson in August of 1951. He served in the United States Air Force from 1952 through 1954; retiring with the rank of First Lieutenant. Marvin excelled in his career as a special representative of Fidelity and Deposit Company of Maryland, where he was elected as vice-president in 1986. Over the years Marvin held many positions of leadership and service in his church, First Presbyterian Church of West Memphis.
Marvin had a servant’s heart, very generous, kind to all, a true “southern gentleman.”. After his retirement in 1993 until the time of his passing, Marvin joined efforts with The World Christian Relief Fund in the Haitian clean water well project. To this end, his most important contribution was in developing a communications system reaching remote areas.
Everything Marvin took on he did to the utmost and completely. This extended to his passion for his hobby of photography. Amassing a portfolio of over 4000 photographs, he generously gifted a collection of 400-500 historically significant negatives and prints to the University of Arkansas.
Marvin is survived by, his wife of 68 years, Donna Demuth; his two daughters, Diane Lewis (John) and Karen Hill; five grandchildren, Casey Lewis Smith, Mark Elliot Lewis, Justin Jennings Hill, Gloria Denise Hill and Joy Marie Hill, as well as six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, David Demuth.
Memorials may be made to: First Presbyterian Church of West Memphis, 315 N. Missouri St., West Memphis, AR 72301.
Visitation will be held at First Presbyterian Church, 315 N. Missouri N Street, West Memphis, AR, on December 3, 2019, at 10am with the funeral service starting at 11am. Interment will follow at Crittenden Memorial Park in Marion, Arkansas.
