Norma "Pat" Joyce Hutcheson

of Leslie, AR

June 13, 1935 - November 21, 2019

Norma Joyce ''Pat'' Hutcheson

Born Norma Joyce Powell on June 13, 1935 to Dewey and Leah Powell in Dimmitt, Texas. After courageously facing lung cancer, Norma passed from this life on November 21, 2019, at the age of 84.

She was preceded in death by her Beloved husband Hays Hutcheson; Parents Dewey and Leah Powell and 3 brothers; W.D. (Bill), Merton, and Clifford Powell.

Norma married Hays on February 2, 1949 in Dimmitt, Texas. They had five children, Belinda, Debra, Virginia, Martha, and Hays, Jr. They then moved to California to raise their family. She was a devoted Mother and homemaker.

Retiring in the early 70's, they left California and bought a 40 Acre Homestead outside of Leslie on Angora Mountain Rd. They began the adventure they had dreamed of, living and loving a country life. Eventually they established several businesses in Leslie, ending with Ozark Mountain Ironworks. Through a combination of Authenticity, Integrity, and a Great Work Ethic they left a positive influence on the community they served.

Norma's husband Hays passed in 2008. Feeling the loneliness of her loss she turned her attention to others. She began volunteering at Highland Court in Marshall. For many years she brought Joy and Love to the residents. She became known as Mom, Nurse Lollipops, and Grandma to the residents and they loved her dearly.

Norma is survived by her brother Robert Powell of Muskogee, OK. Daughters Belinda Hutcheson of Slidell, LA, Debra Criger of Mountain View, Virginia and her husband Roy Barslund of Leslie, Martha and her husband Ted Schneirla of Marshall, and Hays and his wife Kim Hutcheson of Leslie. Nine grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and 14 great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many loved ones and friends.

She was a wonderful daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and friends. Her Steadfast Faith, Love, and Generosity made this world a better place. She will be great missed and Always Loved.

There will be a viewing for family and friends at Roller Coffman Funeral Home at 1701 East Main St. in Mountain View on Saturday, November 30, 2019 from 11:30AM 1:30PM; followed by a graveside service at Angora Mountain Cemetery on Angora Mountain Road at 2:00 PM with Norma's family members officiating the service.

Pallbearers are Tomas Granado, Teddy Ragan, Tailor Ragan, Zach Ragan, Ardy Reed, and Ted Schneirla.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Doctor Irvin, his Nurse Sherry and their staff. The team from Hospice, especially Nurse Sunny; and a world of gratitude to our brother Hays and his wife Kim for the loving and tender care of Our Mother in their home in their final days. Thank you all for your prayers and condolences.

Roller Coffman Home in Mountain View, Arkansas is in charge of the arrangements.

I never personally met Norma, but felt I knew her through her daughter in law Kim. I was happy to hear that she went to the nursing home and played Bingo with the residents. My prayers for the family and friends.
