of Marshall, AR
November 9, 1919 - November 16, 2019
Colima Jane Sisk Beavers, age 100 of Marshall, Arkansas passed from this life on Saturday, November 16th, 2019 at Highland Court in Marshall, Arkansas. She was born on November 9th, 1919 to Johnny and Maudie Corter Sisk in Big Flat, Arkansas.
Colima married the love of her life, Fount Beavers, on July 1st, 1940. This started their life of adventure together, one that led to 56 years of marriage. Although they grew up only miles apart from each other, they met at a logging camp in Illinois, only to return to their roots and settle on the hill at Martin Box. Colima, known to family, friends and all throughout the community as "Mom Beavers", was known for her smile, accepting and loving heart, welcoming home, biscuits, banana pudding and chocolate gravy. She was a dedicated Eastern Star Member for 59 years, serving many times as Worthy Matron. She was a charter member of the Martin Box Mennonite Brethren Church, which her husband, Fount helped build. She and Fount opened Beavers Roller Rink in the Martin Box Community. This rink provided years of family entertainment. Mom and Fount were blessed with eight children, twenty-one grandchildren, fifty great-grandchildren and sixteen great-great grandchildren. They also accepted into their family the "outlaws" provided through the many marriages in the family.
Colima is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Fount; her parents; her sisters, Arizona Wood, Dorothy Foshee and Jean Gaines; brothers, G.W., Charles and J.D. Sisk; her son-in-law, Norman Hendrix; and daughter-in-law, Wanda Beavers.
She is survived by her children, J.C. Beavers, Fran (Willard) Campbell, Lenola Hendrix, Ellen Doshier, Berry (Helen) Beavers, Pam (Eddie) Cannada, Bill (Chere') Beavers and Marsha (Brian) Holder; sisters, Erma Stevens and Lois Rather of Mountain Home; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Mom lived her life for others, and up until her final moments was making sure that everyone else was taken care of and fed. November 9, 1919-November 16, 2019. Her days on earth were one hundred years and seven days. She filled her dash with eternal rewards, and leaves a legacy of love and God's grace for generations past, present, and those to come.

What a Legacy!!! I remember walking (actually sneaking) across the highway to her house when I was a kid because she always had good on the stove (whether cooking it or leftovers). She would always fix me a bite to eat and would get out crayons or toys for to play with. She was such a kind woman who loved everyone; she always had a smile on her face and gentle words. She was a Great friend to my Grandmother and a wonderful neighbor. I know she will be greatly missed!!! May God comfort each of you!!
Our prayers and thoughts are with the family. Mrs.Beavers was such a sweet lady. She will be missed.
