Leroy Vandever Cox, age 93 of Marshall, Arkansas passed from this life on November 12th, 2019 at Highland Court in Marshall, Arkansas. He was born in New Albany, Mississippi on February 3rd, 1926 to Dixon Cox and Della Rawls Cox.

Leroy was a WWII veteran of the United States Army and served in Troop F, 12th Calvary. He served as a military policeman. Leroy received the following awards and medals during his service to our country: Bronze Star Medal; Good Conduct Medal; Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal with 2 bronze service stars; World War II Victory Medal with Japan clasp; Combat Infantryman Badge 1st Award; Philippine Liberation Ribbon with 1 bronze service star; and Honorable Service Lapel Button WWII. After the military Leroy worked at various occupations. He was a tinker by trade and was very knowledgeable when it came to small engine repair. He worked in the peach orchards and went on to become a horse trainer, working on a farm in Little Rock. During this time he also became a licensed electrician. He was a man of varied talents and lived his life to the fullest. He loved his little dog, Fancy very much.

Survivors include his daughter, Patricia McCauley of Malvern; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two brothers, James Cox (Sandra) of Las Vegas, NV and Luther Carrol Cox (Barbara) of Benton; four sisters, Dixie Mae Acuff of Marshall, Annette Cox Smith (Donald) of Marion, Linda Cox Wilkins (Ralph Derrick) of Heafer and Brenda Davis (Terry) of Palestine; and many nieces, nephews and other family who will mourn his passing.

Leroy is preceded in death by his parents, Dixon and Della Cox; one daughter, Carolyn; and sibling, Lannie Moore.

Funeral services for Leroy will be 2:00 PM Saturday, November 16th, 2019 at Roller-Coffman Chapel in Marshall, Arkansas. He will be laid to rest with Military Honors in Marshall Memorial Gardens.

Another one of the greatest generation gone. I grew up as a neighbor to Mr. Cox and never knew he was a WWII veteran.
