Reyes Salinas Sr., 77, was born January 10, 1942 in Conception, Texas to Jose Maria Salinas and Elvira Figueroa and passed from this life on October 24, 2019.
He is preceded in death by his parents, one grandson, Kevin Salinas, and two sisters; Herlinda and Blaza.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Magdalena, three sons; Reyes Salinas Jr. (Peggy), Eugene Salinas, Juan Salinas, three daughters; Matilda Trigo (Arturo), Jenny Andrews (Mike), Isabella Salinas, thirteen grandchildren; Micheal Longoria, Jaime Longoria, Shanna Longoria, Viola Longoria, Crystal Mahan, Tracey Mahan, Julie Mahan, Christy Akin, Steven Akin, Phillip Andrews, Jessica Andrews, Matthew Andrews, Justin Salinas, fourteen great-grandchildren, three sisters; Angie, Betsy, Josepha, five brothers; Oscar, Lionel, Manuel, Armando, Enemencio, many other relatives and a host of friends.
Reyes was a hard worker. He was no stranger to hardship, losing his father at twelve years old, he took on the responsibility of helping to take care of his mother, brothers and sisters. He was a self-made man. Reyes had a saying, "You weren't living life if you weren't busting your tail to work." He lived by that motto. When his first child was born, he and his wife brought their family to Arkansas to build a better life. He taught himself how to lay bricks and became a sought-after brick mason and residential home builder. A little later in life he had an elk ranch and he loved taking people out into the fields to see his elk. He also had a name for every cow in the field. He loved life, but he loved his family more than anything.
A memorial service will be held in his honor at 5:00 PM on Saturday, November 9, 2019 at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Clinton. To sign online guestbook, visit rollerfuneralhomes.com/clinton

I love â¤ï¸ and miss you more than words can ever express. My heart is crushed and my spirit shred to pieces without you. - You always told me that your life’s goal was to leave your children a legacy, your own “Ponderosa.†You worked and worked your entire life to achieve this. Thank you Dad. You were more than a success and achieved your goal. - I love you and will never, ever forget you.
