Evelyn Rose-Friga Walla

of Sherwood, AR

June 14, 1928 - October 15, 2019

Surrounded by family, Evelyn Rose Walla, 91, of Sherwood, Arkansas passed from this world into the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Tuesday, October 15, 2019.

Born June 14, 1928 in Shoal Creek, Arkansas Evelyn graduated from St. Scholastica Academy in Fort Smith and went on to attend St. Edwards School of Nursing where she received a degree in Nursing in 1949.  Evelyn devoted more than 40 years of her life to serving others as a R.N. at St. Edwards Hospital and Fort Chaffee Army Hospital in Fort Smith; the Veterans Hospital in Little Rock; and Memorial Hospital in North Little Rock where she retired from July 1, 1990.

Evelyn enjoyed her retirement years with her family, especially her beloved granddaughters, great-granddaughters and great-grandson who brought so much joy into her life. A member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church since 1965, her faith in God sustained her throughout her life and brought comfort to her in her last days.

She was preceded in death by an infant sibling; parents, Henry and Rose (Anhalt) Friga of Shoal Creek; husband, Max Walla of Sherwood; brothers, Gregory Friga and Edmund Friga of Shoal Creek; and sister, Barbara Friga of Clarksville.

She is survived by three sons: Robert Walla and Henry Walla of Sherwood and Paul Walla (Marilu) of Lowell; granddaughters Ashley Walla of NLR, Jennifer Walla Furrey (Robert) (both who will argue their granny made the world's best grilled cheese sandwiches), great-granddaughters Ella Furrey and Audrey Furrey and great-grandson Daxton Furrey all of Maumelle; grand-beagle Charlotte; granddaughters Sarah Walla and Emily Walla of Lowell; daughter-in-law Cindy Walla of NLR. Her presence will be greatly missed.

Visitation will be held at Roller Owens Funeral Home in North Little Rock on Thursday, October 17, 2019, 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Arkansas Hospice, 14 Parkstone Circle, North Little Rock, AR for the exceptional care and respect that was shown to Evelyn and her family.

Interment will be at St. Scholastica Cemetery in Shoal Creek on Saturday, October 19, 2019.
