of Conway, AR
June 9, 1932 - October 8, 2019
Thomas Lee Paxton of Conway, Arkansas passed from this life on October 8, 2019, at 87 years young. Tom was a devoted follower of Christ, made evident by his selfless and humble heart.
Tom was raised in the Arkansas Timberlands and enjoyed a childhood full of fishing, hunting, and exploring the outdoors. He graduated from high school in Prattsville, Arkansas in 1951, where he met the love of his life and wife of 65 years, Mae (Stubblefield) Paxton.
A proud graduate of Henderson State University in Arkadelphia, Tom was a lifelong learner.
After serving in the US Army, he dedicated his professional life to finance, spending 15 years at Commercial Investment Trust, followed by 26 years at Simmons First National Bank, where he served as a Senior Vice President. Long after retiring, he still loved to keep his mind sharp with a good spreadsheet.
More than anything, Tom loved time with his family. He enjoyed his wife's world famous chocolate pie, carpentry projects with his kids, and playing legos with his grandkids. He never strayed far from his roots, and always made time to watch the Razorbacks play on Saturday.
Tom is preceded in death by his father and mother, John and Maxine Paxton; his brother John Arthur Paxton, Jr. and his sister, Marion Edge. Tom is survived by his wife and best friend, Florence Mae (Stubblefield) Paxton, and children Keith (Cindy) Paxton, Jeffrey Paxton, and Mary (Scott) Whiteaker. He is also survived by his grandchildren Jessica (Justin) Crum, Toni Michelle Hardin, Emily Paxton, Alyssa Whiteaker, Thomas Paxton, and Drew Whiteaker; and great-grandchildren Mila Moody and Isley Crum.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, October 12, 2019 at 10:00am at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home at 650 Central Landing Blvd., Conway, Arkansas. Miss Mae, I dearly loved Tom! I began working at Simmons in 1985 I didn't even know you and Tom until then, when my former Father in law and Pastor, Gene Smith told me of him. Tom soon meet me and warmly welcomed me. He always had a smile and a look of, "I understand" on his face! I am so sorry for your lost. It is truly heavens gain!

So sorry for your loss. I worked with Mr. Paxton at Simmons Bank for a number of years. He lived his faith in the work place, and was a very fine man.
