Rick Allen Baney, 60, of Conway, Arkansas, passed away on Monday, October 7, 2019, at Conway Regional Medical Center after a courageous battle with a rare form of brain cancer.
Born in Goshen, Indiana, he grew up in Elkhart, Indiana then moved to Arkansas to attend Arkansas State University in Jonesboro. He was a member of the Alpha Tau Omega fraternity. Rick was an avid sports fan and participated in numerous sports, excelling in pole vaulting.
He was a lifelong Notre Dame fan and especially loved attending games with family and friends. Rick's greatest joy was his children and family. He loved coaching and supporting them in all their endeavors. He worked with the Junior Achievement program in Conway expanding his impact on youth beyond his family. He was a member of Conway's First Baptist Church and enjoyed serving in the Children's program when his children were younger.
Rick had a lifelong career in banking and is remembered for his great smile and friendly manner. Throughout those years he worked at Twin City Bank, One Banc and Eagle Bank and made great friends along the way.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 29 years, Melissa, and his three children Taylor (Cole) Breeding, Alexander and Emily (all of Conway), mother and father-in-law, Mary Lou and Joe Wickliffe (North Little Rock), and his Aunt Nancy Harris (Florence, South Carolina) who was always a second Mom to Rick. He is also survived by many adoring nieces, nephews, family members and friends who will miss him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Sue VanWinkle and sister Tammy Evans.
Rick will be greatly missed by everyone that had the privilege to know him, but we are celebrating him being made whole in Jesus.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, October 9, 2019 at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Conway. Rick's Celebration of Life service will be at 11:00 am Thursday, October 10, 2019 at Second Baptist Church located at 2600 Dave Ward Drive in Conway.

Emily, we extend our heartfelt sympathy to you and your family. xx
Rick was always a nice guy and a pleasure to be around when our paths would cross. He was very considerate when my wife, Renea, passed away in 2014. He was someone easy to be friends with in our business relationship or simply in person. Congratulations on getting your "bonus" early; the rest of us will hang back trying to earn it. We will see each other again. Give Renea a hug for me!
